Another great result for sanfl footy. No doubt this will encourage the panther fans to come back. Did port end up with any non afl listed players playing? Why don't south just improve to match ports standard? I'm sure like last year injuries will take their toll on port and bring them back to the pack.

Isn't it great that we have to wait for some poor fellas to get season ending injuries etc, before our great competition becomes just that . A competition.

To be honest I wasn't even that disappointed with South. Port had 17 AFL listed players who's only thought would have been preparing for tonight's game.
Some of South's blokes who are tradies would have been up at six or before this morning , done at least half a days work , then off to the game.

Playing field even . NOT EVEN CLOSE !!!!

Spot on sjt and The Panther. The gap between professionals and amateurs will only grow as the years pass, as sports sciences, training facilities and the like continue to grow and develop. I still argue that the better result would have been Port kicking one more goal in last year's GF, so perhaps a wider range of people would wake up to the farce that this 'competition' is.

Can cop losing to a fellow SANFL club who play under the same set of rules. But tonight was hard to stomach in more ways than one. Like last year, I certainly wont be heading to Alberton later in the season. Oh well, at least we had the financial windfall from the 1% of Port's 60K members who rocked up and pumped some money through the club.

A huge night on this forum by the looks. SANFL footy really creating plenty of interest on here lately.

Not quite, you have to refer to Keith Thomas as a 'big knob.'

Pretty sad when you have to pray for major injuries to the opposition but thats what it has come down to with this farce of a setup.
Hopefully a few get belted behind play to even things up a bit.
Interest in the SANFL at an all time low, my family wont be renewing memberships this year and I will now attend country footy everyweek instead.
Have also convinced my boss not to sponsor his club anymore and put his money into local sport

Agree about it being sad that I literally watch a game hoping one team gets a bunch of injuries so my team can at least be competitive

The hierarchy of the SANFL will never understand what damage they have done to a comp when there is no level playing field
The foolhardiness of the likes of Sanderson and Trigg will remain with the SANFL true supporters for years with lopsided results tearing the heart out of the comp

But it's great for football and has injected much more interest in the comp etc etc.

Adelaide Reserves are winning but the commentary is that bad it's hard to tell who they are playing

Sturt are 17 points up at 1/2 time
