Last nights port game in comparison was dead shit dull & boring, it sounded like a morgue, or a bunch of nuns commentating a mouse race in a library

I couldn't disagree more. I think Eddie is an excellent commentator, just don't let him near a Pies game. You can hear his passion for the game when he calls. However if I was a Blackbirds fan I'd probably agree because he was barracking for Carlton. A quick look at the ladder might explain that.

Usually I don't mind him that much, but he was openly barracking for carlton, and I suspect you are right about the reason.

He probably did it because roo does it every time he's doing a crows game, or he barracks for who ever is playing port.

even as a Carlton fan I love Eddie... what he has done for the Pies is amazing. Love hearing him commentate and yesterday was more about the underdog (bottom team in the comp) having a red hot crack against a top 4ish team.... could have been anyone down the bottom and he would have been carrying on...

I thought he was great. I agree, I think his barracking was more for a club on its knees standing up & fighting. He comes from the old MMM commentary guys who I love listening too. Pity they can't time their commentary to the broadcast as then I'd turn the TV volume down & listen to the radio.
The crows a top 4ish side, you're kidding right, that talk is for bias crows supporters.

Yes for both Crows and Port games as they are only broadcasting to their fans/state. Channel 7/Fox are a national coverage so should be catering for both teams that were playing, not just the Victorian underdog.
