Most Improved?

Postby JK » Wed Jul 08, 2015 10:24 am

Josh Bruce? Rory Laird? Elliot Yeo? Lachie Neale? David Armitage? Jamie Elliott?

Just a few players who appear to have taken their game to a new level in 2015, who else can we say that about?

Jack Crisp, from my perspective.

Oxley has been a revelation in defence, as well.

McGovern and Hombsch have been big improvers, one significantly more than the other though.

good topic JK

Could also add Stringer to the list of improvers. The kid now can win games off his own boot!

Should attempt a line up. Most of the players listed so far though have been defenders.

Reckon Bernie Vince is enjoying his best season, although probably came from a higher base than many of the names mentioned this far.

On the same token, he's shown he could be the number 1 tagger in the comp and then follows up with 35+ disposals, fair call IMO.

After a quick scour through the teams I've found these:
Carlton: Bell, Cripps and Everitt
Coll: Adams
Geel: Guthrie & Lang
Hawks: Duryea
Port: Wingard
Rich: B.Ellis
Saints: Steven & Newnes
Dogs: Dalhuis, Bonts, Stevens & Wallis

Obviously I've left out ones previously listed.

Vince is a great call.

From the crows perspective it has to be Rory Laird, and to a lesser extent CEY (though does it count as improving if you basically didnt play before this season?)

F: Elliot, Bruce, Vacant
HF: Stringer, Cam McCarthy, Shane Edwards
C: Crisp, Vince, Yeo
HB: Laird, McGovern, Wood
B: Vacant, Tom McDonald, Picken
R: Blicavs, Armitage, Neale

Missing a back pocket and a forward pocket. Thoughts on the team and who else should be in there?

I thought they both burst on to the scene last season, KK has gotten better but I'm not sold on the 1800.

Hombsch or Marley could fill the back pocket, the forward pocket could go to an unlucky onballer, perhaps Steven, Bonts or Chaddy.

Fair crack mate and yep I reckon CEY qualifies. It's an awkward topic at times, you look at blokes lol Matty Boyd and Rob Murphy and how well they're playing, but they have been at those levels in previous seasons, just maybe not 2014.
