Eagles v South Woodville oval 1.10pm

Postby DOC » Tue Jul 28, 2015 11:35 pm

Stupid game time. Cant believe it was brought forward so that the game would not be finished in near darkness. I guess it means its the tv game which for us has been a curse in recent years.

Liddle in doubt with a dodgy ankle (come on Lids you have Never missed a game for us).

Completly unbiased but South by a point.

Agreed, Eagles should be too strong for South but I wouldn't go for 10 goals too strong.
South will be boosted by a gutsy win over Norwood and will be up for this game. If the Eagles aren't on their metal South could sneak it.
A switched on Eagles to win by 15-20 points

I hope South win against the defensive and boring Eagles.

Costly for the eagles Godden traveling interstate in the off season for the new game plan.

Probably travelling interstate poaching players again.......

South the underdog with a point to prove they are the real deal and make a statement.

South a great team of loyal players who are a close unit. A team who have stuck together for a few years now without chasing the $$$$'s , bought success or put their own self interests before the club.

Moral boasting win over the Legs last weekend and think we can take it up to the Eagles.

South by 3 goals.
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

Gee the Panther army is up and about, beat a woeful Norwood side by a point and you are flag favourites all of a sudden ;)

Just kidding, its great to see South enjoying some success, well overdue.
Will always respect them for being what we were too gutless to do and vote NO

Not sure if I should bother pointing this out, but,

Total points (for & against) scored on average in 2015 involving matches with:

South: 130.4
Norwood: 137.5
Eagles: 139.7
Port: 142.2
Central: 143.5
Sturt: 154.1
North: 161.8
West: 164.1
AdelaIde: 168.8
Glenelg: 169.5

Yes, I do hope the least defensive side wins, indeed.

That is a very thought provoking stat.

Off the top of my head, I would say that over the last 50 years, we would have been almost a permanant fixture at the other end of the table.

That said, I now think South by three points.

Majority of teams play defensive and boring footy now unfortunately. Spelly's stats (and the goal kicking table) reflect this.

That is correct. My table was only really to show we weren't the team with the least points scored in a match.

Compare this year to 2006 (with major round included):

Central: 184.6
Eagles: 195.0
Norwood: 199.2
West: 203.8
Port : 205.2
Glenelg: 213.1
North: 217.6
South: 218.8
Sturt: 219.2

Perhaps Grant Miles your Finance Director could present the cup to Andrew himself. Grant was very courageous in mouthing off to Andrew at the Eagles 1/4 time huddle a couple of years back. I must ask Grant if Andrew ever called him back as he was most upset at the time.
