SAAFL FINALS WEEK 1 (FINAL)

Postby Footy Chick » Mon Aug 17, 2015 3:52 pm

Final details attached.

Noted changes from 17/08/2015 draft

1. Division 4: Salisbury will now play Pooraka at Salisbury in an Elimination Final
2. Division 4: Eastern Park will now play Kilburn at Blair Athol Reserve in the Qualifying Final
3. Division 4 Reserves: Kenilworth v Westminster will now play at Kenilworth at 12:15
4. Division 7R: St Pauls v Adelaide University will commence at 11:45 instead of 12:15
5. Division 7: St Pauls v Mitchell Park will commence at 1:45 instead of 2:15
6. Division C3: Kenilworth v Mitcham will now play at 2:15 instead of 2:30 as originally advised
7. Division C3: PHOS v Adelaide University will now play at 12:15 instead of 2:15 as originally advised

Any other changes will be notified directly with the relative club/s.

In addition to point 1 above.

Consistent with the League’s well published stance on behaviour both on and off field, the League has had cause to initiate the deduction of 4 premiership points from the Salisbury Football Club due to the actions of some within the U18 team. The consequences are that the Salisbury Football Club will now be relegated to 4th spot on the ladder, moving Eastern Park to 3rd.

What needs to be made very clear is the Salisbury Football Club were on a suspended penalty due to a series of incidents involving the Under 18’s. We have not arbitrarily applied a penalty that in anyway considered a surprise to any anyone involved.

Quite surprised St Paul's are able to host a final...considering it's at a school, there is no bar, no canteen, no sheltered viewing facilities and the surface isn't really up to scratch.

Section 36.6:

36.6 A Member Club that is the highest ranked team in its Division may apply to host a home final or a final on an available neutral oval of their choice, excluding a Grand Final, but shall fulfil The League’s minimum requirements including but not limited to:

(a) the ground surface shall be in a reasonable condition.
(b) the change rooms shall have reasonable facilities for players, umpires and trainers.
(c) there shall be reasonable facilities provided for spectators.
(d) shall fulfil The League’s obligations to its major sponsors.
(i) the Member Club shall be sponsored by SABC.
(ii) the venue shall exclusively supply SABC beers for this event.

The did have a bar sat at the game, table with a couple of eskies, enjoyed a couple of Hahn Super drys after our game. Not sure if this was just because there was school football first before our B grade?
