So, we beat you...........

And you beat the premiership favourites.........

So that makes us premiership favourites.........

I like this set up.

Port have been putrid on far to many occasions this season.

In my defence after hanging Roos the Dees kicked 6 in a row and it looked like the Blues were going to find away to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory again.

Yeh, all in jest mate..... obviously!

Wristy, being serious for a sec, I agree. Guys like Beveridge and Simmo at WCE have gone past him I reckon. The new breed is "in" and the new breed is being surpassed.

Nothing wrong with that, I just hope Carlton have that in mind when they appoint a new coach.

Agree, even Ken Hinkley has been superb for Port despite having a huge lull this year.

I look at someone like Eade and think why Gold Coast why? A club needs to get pro-active and look for new directions. Even Phil Walsh has sent the Crows in the right direction.

The next generation of coaches is upon us and you don't need 300 games and a Brownlow to be a good coach, as a matter of fact it may not even help.

I thought Eade at the start of the season would be good for them, but he's been hampered by massive injuries and ill discipline. Whether he's inherited the ill discipline or not, who knows. But I wonder if he was brought in to bring discipline in as a first measure and not worry about game plan (ie, bring him in for two years to right the ship) so much and set themselves up for 2017/2018 onward. Again, who knows - given the CEO's presser after McKenna got the flick, you wouldn't have a clue as to the direction of the club.

Overall, you'd have to think that the trend is toward 'new' coaches. Surprisingly I must admit. But then you look at us, two years ago we opted for a 59/60 year old. How silly does that look now?

I'm only recently starting to realise, that the AFL have more 'pull' in appointments than I thought were initially apparent.

Given Carlton's *ahem* situation, I wonder whether the overriding appointment will be vetoed/approved by AFL aficionado's?

Squeal like a bitch, flail his head backward and throw his not free arms in the air, appealing for a free kick.

The entire game needs overhauling, I don't care who says otherwise.

I didn't see the incident but dropping at the knees, rolling the shoulders and falling forward tends to work a treat these days.

He grabbed the ball above his head, brought it down to hip level, was instantaneously tackled and one arm was pinned. He (and tackler) took him to Yeo's knees and the umpire pinged him for "not making a reasonable attempt". Seriously? Yeo asked the umpire, "did I have prior opportunity?", the umpire said "you didn't try to get rid of it". So picture Yeo, on the ground, with one arm pinged and on his knees "trying" to get rid of the ball with one arm. Umm, insert reference to Monty Python's here.....

If Fyfe gets games and Hodge doesn't I'm done with AFL.

A bloke who attacks and hunts the ball gets reported because some North dud can't take possession.

A sniper who hip and shoulders someone's skull into a point post when the ball is no longer in play gets nothing. You can laugh at the event but we have seen enough paraplegics and quadriplegics for a lifetime and this dangerous reckless act showed no duty of care. A great player is turning into a piece of crap, that crossed the line. Still not up there with his coaches king hit on the Carlton bloke but not surprising Clarkson justifies it. Dirtiest grub of them all.

Before the Hawthorn posters get on there high horse ask yourself how you would feel if someone ran through your sons neck when he couldn't protect himself. I'm just glad he did get up.

Fyfe down low, going at the ball, slid on on his knees. He should not get games for that.

Hodge, braced to bump, hit Wingard in the head. Must be 2 games down to 1, with is record, probably 3 down to 2.

I think the MRP is at least getting the head high contact somewhere near right at the moment, perhaps the penalties ( Cooney two weeks ago ) might be a game off what it should be, but they are at least giving games to players who choose to bump and create high contact.

No way the Fyfe incident is reportable. No allowed to slide and take legs, so he lunges at the ball, got as low as could and was front on at contact.
Hodge incident, 3 seems a good fit to me...no bias at all. Nuh 1 week, but the whole Hawks team basically have the next 2 weeks off anyway.

Pretty sure with Hodge's record from this year it means if he is to get suspended it can not be 1 week.
It will be a fine or two weeks+, its impossible for him to get 1 week.
