It should be picked as though they are playing a game.

A lot of sides play just one ruckman.

Bullshit, even if they play one "recognised" ruckman, they always have a spare big bloke to play a relief ruck role, no one in that team would be capable of that.

Stoked for Bob Murphy, as was mentioned earlier definately one of the most likeable players in the game and showed he is a true leader of the young pups. At 32 still doesn't look like slowing down!

Easton Wood went from zero to hero this year with his intercept marks across HB and composure with footy in hand as well. Has been around a long time but improved out of sight!

And stringer... wow! Has a bit of Dane swan about him with his unconventional running and kicking... he's a bull of a kid with real pace and strength and amazing goal sense! So exciting for the future of the doggies...
I am not talking to you for 3 minutes because you punched me in the head and it hurt and that was not okay for you to do

Yep, was talking about this with my mate who's an Eagles supporter, Lecras has had a much better year than Rioli. Even Josh Hill and Jeff Garlett have kicked more goals than Rioli. Also, after Betts and Wingard Luke Bruest is the next genuine small forward to kick the most goals.

Martin (along with Rance) was the Tigers best player this season and definitely their best mid. Deledio getting an AA jumper ahead of Dusty is bizarre IMO.

I thought Lecras has had a good season, but in didn't think it was AA worthy. But when I see Cyril in there, it makes wonder how he wasn't even in the squad of 40.

Umm, he was nowhere near AA standard this year?

I don't think he was even close, to be honest.

The AA team has no meaning anymore. Not when the people voting on it are either suits from head office or Melbourne media with a couple of token non-victorians. Gillon McLachlan (chairman), Kevin Bartlett, Luke Darcy, Mark Evans, Danny Frawley, Glen Jakovich, Cameron Ling, Matthew Richardson and Tredrea.
Darcy, Frawley, Ling and Richardson only ever cover the big Friday or Saturday night games, and are too busy trying to make each other laugh than actually watch footy.

thats a great point

i wonder if any of them actually saw Jeremy cameron play this year?

also explains why if there is a tossup between two players, you would go for the one you have seen play - i.e riewoldt

Riewoldt very very lucky while Rioli and Gibson in are a joke. Cyril shouldn't have been anywhere near this side but hey look at the clowns who pick it and we shouldn't be surprised.

Gibson out for Laird

Rioli out, Lids onto ground at HF, Nic Nat in

Mundy out for Kennedy

They don't just do television; they have radio commitments also. They would see more footy than what you are suggesting.

Nic Nat missing is a shocker imho. Other than that, not too many problems with the side or leadership selections.
