You would think his heart was always at Smithfield and that the EP decision was a bit heat of the moment.

Good to hear EP cleared him back no problems at all.

Just think he was confused but good to have him back out there, looking very fit aswell as he has trained hard through the pre season

Smithfield milestone game this week, Paul van Dongen 'Donga' has played 450 games for Smithfield. A true club legend and gentleman of the game, well done mate.

Popped into the EFC last night and, while there were less and less faces I recognised, it was great to see so many young fellas at the club and for the right reason.
There seems to be a few ins this week, as well - great news at the selection table.

Speaking to him Saturday he was saying it's a great feeling walking away from a club in as good as condition as to when he first played for it, having a C grade this season has really provided a great vibe around the place, they may not win a lot of games this season but they'll be out there giving it 100% each week.
There's a good blend of old and young guys playing and all for the right reasons, they've got a great relatively young coach who is also excited about being given the opportunity and being able to give the guys missing out on A & B grade selection a chance to have a kick.

I drove past Smitty at about 6.15 last night. I've never seen the oval that busy on a Thursday night.

I know this is a seniors board but just want to say thanks to Rosewater for hosting the Under13 carnival today, they were a fantastic bunch of people who made us all feel welcome. Great club rooms, great people, cold beer at the end of the day and a well run day.

Cheers

Could it possibly be a grand final replay/preview this week at Smithfield. When was the last time this happened?

Scores?

*EDIT*

Scores are up now

Lockleys 15.5-95

Smithfield 6.11-47

Great result by the Dee's, is that Smithfield's 2nd or 3rd loss in 3 years now, all to Lockleys IIRC?
