India v Seth Efrica

Postby stan » Fri Nov 06, 2015 10:55 am

Well 1st test and what a pitch. Absolute mine field on day one. Describe as a 4th day pitch on day one.

Dean Eglar who is a part time left arm orthodox took 4 wickets as SA routed india for 201.

He also congratulated india on doctoring a pitch that much that its a 4th day pitch already.

South Africa are the last team who should comment on pitch preparation.

I know that it is going back 45 years but those old enough to remember when South Africa prepared a green top for a test against Australia. Bill Lawry won the toss and then sent South Africa into bat. The groundsman then came out and shaved the pitch prior to the game beginning, thus presenting a batting paradise which then broke up by the time Australia eventually went out to bat.

Ian Chappell, who I respect immensely says that India never doctor pitches. Their slow turners are just a result of their climate, soil and general conditions just as Perth's conditions are conducive to extremely quick bouncy pitches.

Pea Hearts.
Too scared to face the Indians.
Next best thing to an Aussie win is seeing those jokers dismantled

This pitch is an UTTER DISGRACE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its playing like a day 10 pitch early on day 2.

World cricket would be so much better off if India simply F****D off all together

Nothing wrong with the pitch, no excuse to be 6/12.
It's no worse than the Saffers serving up raging green tops for touring sides

Except SA don't. And green seemers only get better to bat on, these pitches don't. Remember how India refused to play at the WACA last tour, which made them look stupid considering what happened recently.
