Just reading the match reports - just under 30,000 to the crows tigers game.

How do they get away with crowds like that without scrutiny? They would have over 60k members.

If this game was in Adelaide and even got less than 40 the pitch forks would be out

Good question there benny. I would love to hear a reason. We jump on the SA teams when they pull a sub 40k crowd but if one of the big Melbourne teams in Richmond with a "huge" following inly pulls 30k, seems like it doesnt matter.

Of the 60,000 Richmond members, by round 3, 20,000 of them have burnt their membership cards!

The Richmond and Collingwood members refuse to go to Etihad as they see the MCG as their home. Was discussed again by KB during the week and thousands of fans had emailed the club at start of the season to let them know they would boycott all home games at Etihad. Both clubs are trying to get all home games at the MCG and the only way to make the AFL take notice is to hit them where it hurts and that's in revenue. Yesterday would of been 50-60k at MCG

Anyone catch any of the Eagles v Dockers womens match? The first time ive watched a womens match and its just fricken terrible, the skills are appalling, div 7 reserves would be a better standard and they think people will watch that shit on a regular basis? Yep lets put money into that rather than grassroots development in the traditional states.
And now theres some woman on the panel of gameday on 7, just horrible.

To be fair, Nick Maxwell is also on the panel.

Got to start somewhere and women's footy is going to bring in a lot more people to the game before too long. The standard will improve, but I don't think I'll ever get to see a women's game at the same standard as any state leagues. Definitely a wise investment, not a waste IMHO.

Great game in Hobart, 41 goals scored with the Roos getting up by 4 points. Dee's had chance to win it in the dying seconds

Brendan McCarthy did a superb job in building this game plan of the Dogs.

They progressed quicker than the Cats did with it.
