When a defender goes to ground with his hand on the striker which takes him down also it forces the ref to make a decision. Fonte stays on his feet the ensuring penalty doesn't occur.

Agreed....very harsh call on Fonte. Still not sure why the ref didn't stop play with Koscielny laying prostrate on the ground with a head injury.

The other point missed is Giroud's flailing arm which collects Fonte in the head before both players go to ground.
Saints definitely deserved a point, if not all 3 with the play & chances they created.

Not much advertising this week as half the committee have been through hospital. 4 is surprising though never had that little rock up before.
