Great news for Roughie and all those close to him, and very good news for the Hawks for 2017 because his on-field presence is a key ingredient in their recipe for finals success.

Yep the lad f**ked up, could've been a lot worse luckily it wasn't. By no means is it acceptable behaviour but there is more to it that I'm not sure that will be made public. Infact I'm almost certain it won't, but Impey isn't in a good place at the moment.

Obtuse, Right or Acute?

Anyone happy with how Port handled the issue?
Seems to me just another Football Club 'hushing up' or 'diminishing' the Player's responsibility for his actions.

Should Port of hung him in the square instead?

C'mon, this happens all the time, here & over the border.
The Club seeks Legal Advice, a Statement is Drafted & Read in front of the cameras, a pathetic 'punishment' is handed down & everything goes on as normal until the next time a similar incident occurs.

Is it any wonder that the same incidents occur over & over again?
As long as the Clubs continue to diminish responsibility of the individual, these incidents will continue to occur.

Happens in AFL & the NRL - every year, consistently.

As for the $5K & Round 1 sanction - Pfft...

I like the way Port announce new details everyday, it's like the 12 days of Xmas. Hopefully it can turn into the 119 days of Xmas.
What will we get tomorrow? That it was a unicycle not a bicycle and he was dressed as a clown?

"Clubs continue to diminish responsibility", so who is responsible for your actions, you or your employer?

Pretty sure it's up to the individual to uphold standards. The clubs can offer guidance but it's an individual who needs to act appropriately.

Was the club aware any delay may have impacted on a blood-alcohol test?

The club refused to say. Police Commissioner Grant Stevens said Impey didn’t present to police in a period of time that would have enabled them to conduct an alcohol test.

As the club were talking to him almost 12 hours before he fronted to the cops and where the ones to give the advice to Jarman to front up after he can take an alcohol test can they be charged for obstructing the course of justice?
Sounds awfully shady and unprofessional. Shouldn't a club be helping the community and not encouraging crime?

There has to be more to this. Port need to be made accountable for aiding him in not going to the Police sooner.

yes lets take our kid immediately to the police to be convicted as a legal criminal and possibly ruin his football career

he has stepped out of line sure, and the club will obviously punish him, but this is so minor, sick of seeing it on the news still

the rookie journalists have nothing better to do but to stalk impey cos afl gets the ratings

Didn't Krackour get five games just for drinking and get into a punch-up?

Are you serious?

Whitfield hid from ASADA, who the AFL are aligned with for testing purposes. I'm pretty sure SAPOL will handle the criminal matter and it has **** all to do with the AFL. Coupled with the fact all clubs must lodge the fine they are imposing with the AFL and AFLPA it's pretty much got nothing to do with the AFL from here on.

Was allowed some personal leave to head home to see family in WA while going through rehab from surgery. It was 3am, outside a known hot spot.
