Absolutely imperative they get Root cheaply now.

Yep. A cheap Root is always handy.

Lucky to get to 258 with the windies dropping root and stokes. Really like Gabriel he is a quality bowler, just needs more stamina.
Where in big trouble for the ashes, we just dont have anyone good enough to open or bat 3. There is so much pressure on to few and it is very hard to beat australia in australia when your top order is not settled.

England will still win....Windies batting is worse than England's

in slightly related international news, Somerset's Marcus Trescothick has signed a contract extension for 2018 and 26th season with the cider sippers  magnificent effort considering his international career ended with mental health issues.

Im sure im not the only one who can see the game turning on its head very quickly.
Windies have barely won a day of Test cricket in decades let alone 2 days in a row.
Will be a miracle if they can win a 3rd day in a row.
Wouldn't be surprised if Eng clean them up with a deficit of 100 - 120 Make 350 - 400 in 2nd innings setting the Windies 250 - 300 and rolling them for 120.

Malan should've been gone nicking behind, Dowrich went to dive then pulled out at the last moment which completely blindsided first slip. The Windies are one decent seamer away from having a reasonable attack, Gabriel and Holder are both decent bowlers and Bishoo can be erratic but is a wicket taker. Chase provides more than handy offspin but Roach without the pace he used to have is a liability.
