That sounds terrible imo.

Oh hell no, surely Bird will play if Hazelwood is out.

"The pitch for the inaugural Pune Test match is so dry that Australia are believed to be considering a third spinner"

The plot has officially been lost if this is the case. If they need a 3rd spinner it has to be Agar or Maxwell in at 6/7 as allrounders. If they want Swepson it would have to be at the expense of Lyon or O'Keefe. Hazlewood is one of the best bowlers in the world.

Agree....Hazlewood has to play. Our only hope is for Starc and Hazlewood to duplicate what Gillespie and Kasper did back in 2004. Hopefully it reverses and they both cash in.

Will be interesting to see what sort of crowd they get. Stadium is in the middle of nowhere a long way out of the city of Pune and I maybe wrong, but I think they only sell a season ticket to all 5 days.

Mitch Marsh suited to these conditions but still need 2 front line fast bowlers (Hazlewood and Starc) with the new ball IMO.
If they want 3 spinners play Agar as the 'all rounder' and then Lyon and Swepson.
Don't think you can play 2 left arm slow bowlers (both don't spin the ball much), need the variety IMO.
Selectors thinking about 3 spinners doesn't show off much confidence in Lyon and O'Keefe!

I can't believe some "experts" are saying renshaw should miss out!!! How can you even consider dropping him after the summer he had??? Give the lad a chance

Even if he fails this series the experience will hold him in good stead for many more Indian tours over the next decade!

If your any chance you have to win the toss and make a massive score. If you lose the toss the game is over.
