correct.
never understood why you would want to play lead up games with modified rules...isn't the point of the competition to get ready for the season proper?

I think it is the best time to test what rule changes might potentially be made. The basics of footy are the same so I don't think the players are too fussed by Super Goals or protected zones etc.

It also makes for better footy in Round 1 as most have had a run or 2. I know there will be a lot of interest in tonight's game from an Essendon point of view.

This year's newbie is a bit dumb, trialing a new format for intentional rushed behinds, does anyone know if they still get credited the behind?

History is made tonight, the Hawks participate in a match where the opposition is actually wearing one of the worst guernsey's in history

Yep, no wonder the Cats are playing crap having to wear that utter rubbish.

Hawks now only have the 2nd,3rd,4th,5th and 6th worst guernseys ever made[emoji3]

It's ridiculous that the West Coast Eagles had to charter a flight to Wagga Wagga then make a 200km return bus trip for a scratch match. They do enough travelling throughout a season without having that foisted on them.

Just watched the video of the injury. Watching it in real time it appeared that there wasn't much that caused it but looked very uncomfortable and painful. Ridiculous injury.
