Great win today and great tackling. Port Power's depth would have to be questioned a bit if they don't have injuries and can't play their captain and still lose.

They are actually weaker playing 21 AFL listed players than if they have 1 or 2 top ups. The unco teenages that make up the last couple of spots are nothing compared to having guys like Summerton and Sharrad in there side.

Lets get real about it. Port and the Crows specifically asked for stand alone sides so that all their players can play in the same side with a common coaching pattern. Port were handed a couple of bonuses in getting an additional side as an academy side (who knows what that means) and home matches. If they had the same deal as the Crows Summerton and Sharrad would be playing country footy. They should not be using their reserves to win premierships.

Hats off to stan for using the word 'unco.'

I don't think the unco teenagers would be the last chosen. On the weekend it was the likes of Jasper Pittard that forced Summerton into the reserves. Had there been more injuries in the Power side, the top SANFL players would take their places, then there would be room on the park for Summerton. Those unco teenagers are there week in week out, unless they personally get injured.
The irony of it is that Summerton seems to have more of a positive influence than even those on the very fringe of playing AFL.

What I was saying is that if Ladhams didnt play and Summerton came in the Port reserves would be much stronger. We are talking about a baby giraffe or a 200 game sanfl veteran.

Thinking of heading to the Bay to watch Glenelg v Eagles but I see it's a 1.10pm start?
What's the reason for that?

Also do Glenelg have anything for the kids?
Going to take my 5 year old son so hoping there is something to keep him amused.
