Only in the new world of the SANFUUUUUL can a coach who was running his own show at one club, go to another where he is about 10th in line as far as importance with little control, and its a promotion.

Can't believe it's being called a 3 year deal, he won't be coaching the SANFL side in 3 years....

Does the expectations of remuneration on both sides line up? 2 other clubs have replaced coaches this off-season yet Scott Thompson hasn't come close in either of those replacements....

Hopefully the Bays hierarchy listened to UK and not their own fans and started searching for a replacement 2 months ago.

How so? What was posted on here to support your comments?
Plenty of Glenelg supporters I know saw this coming a long time ago. No doubt our useless president/board didn’t.

Check out the preceding posts and snouts louts to boot.
A ladyboy I was talking to in Thailand 2 weeks ago had more idea what's going on at Glenelg than Bays supporters, he must be UKs source.

Yeah, well I said he wanted 3 Year’s at Port.....about 4 weeks ago.

I might as well start a thread I rooted your Mum because that's about the level this thread is at.

So he was sacked months ago? I'm having lunch with him at GFC this week, seems odd that he would choose that location.

Okay, so the Bays didn't sack him, he sacked the Bays.
We may not look forward to the thread about how you rooted someone's mother, but rather how that Mum rooted you.
I think it is sick that you would post such a thing on a public forum! But that is just my opinion.

Maybe Glenelg could now consider pinching another league club's coach,
how is that also fair and reasonable?
I don't think they will even consider it.
Glenelg helped vote the power in so such is life!
The SANFULL competituon continues it's decline.

All state league coaches would have AFL coaching role clauses written into their contracts as an out, this one however is different as Lokan isn't taking up an AFL role of any description.

One could assume the financial position of the GFC might have impacted on their thinking if it came to fighting it in a legal sense? Then again the old "if you don't want to be here" might have been the thinking.

Regardless of your last sentence, can we assume Port have approached a coach who is in contract with another club to get him to break it?

Rumour has it that the Bays are talking to former reserves coach Brett Backwell. He coached their reserves into finals 2 years ago then left to coach Prince Alfred to a premiership in Div 1 Amo's. Has the cred

No, I don’t know the full story of what happened. Have heard differing versions from Glenelg supporters & differing versions from Port people.

One of two things happened, Port approached him or he approached Port. Either way he's not at Brighton Road anymore and had a contract. Simple.

Are Port always in the habit of speaking to contracted coaches?
They bitched and moaned and groaned when St Kikda approached Richardson didn’t they?
