Adelaide Crows 2019

Postby Brodlach » Thu Oct 04, 2018 1:02 pm

Time to move on from another wasted season.

Upwards and onwards I say.

Who will come in the trade period, who or what will we get for McGovern?

Will Brad Crouch actually get on the park, will there be a preseason camp ;) and who will Tex give a serve to?

Crouch to Richmond.

He knows a trainer there and likes the way the medical room is heading.

Justin Reid ruled out Richmond and this rumour yesterday. Said he had a laugh with the Richmond list manager as to how they could afford it. Went on to say he is a required player and has no idea where the rumour came from.

Just my poor attempt to mimic the McGovern reasons.

Not sure...they could trade the rights to him. Depends on if another side claims him before Carlton maybe? Or if he officially becomes a Carlton player before the trade period or after? Dunno mate.

Anyone at the club working on anything? Or are we just going to the draft with 4 top 21 picks?

Other than McGovern which we had no choice, tumbleweeds

Stengle will come, add McAdam - added some pace for the FWD line all be it raw.

I think the draft is the best way to go this year and cross out fingers that the lads can stay on the park.

Not an Adelaide fan, but I reckon you're right - Need to add some more top end talent. Ogilivy is a very underrated operator imho, should be in safe hands there.

I agree re Ogilvy. We had some dodgey years in the early 2000s but in recent years some good recruiting.

Maybe the development department is better. Clubs always seem to agree on the draft list, developing the player is just as important. Not convinced clubs draft wrong, they just develop players poorly. Easy in hindsight to say should've picked player X when every club at the time would've selected him.

Agree the importance of the dev dept but the selections that are outside of the norm. Few spring to mind in recent years. Doedee taken well before experts had him, Greenwood sup list, C Cameron off rookie list. Then its the dev group to take them to the level.
