I do hope you are right. All I know is that it will be two desperate teams playing for their first premiership points!

Eagles skill level deplorable for the first 3/4 and should have been out of the game at 3/4 time. Complete transformation in the next 15 mins. sturts experienced onballers like Riley, Battersby and Kikwood then steadied and got the win.

Foote continues to impress, Redden clearly best for us and Haylock worked hard all day. Sharrad a welcome return next week to add some grunt with Toumpas a possibility also.

Northerner, were there club awards on Saturday night considering the function room was closed for a private function? If so please advise who the winners were. I thought Presbury was best player.

Never a good thing when you give up your facility for a function. It generally means no one attends after a game and revenue is an issue. Not good if true.

Have the presentations in the bar then. No big deal, and the club earns coin from the function room hire.

Dogs picked up injuries to Dew and Furnell that will need replacing. Madden may also be in doubt. Host of reserve lads in good form who can fill the breech.

Thanks Northerner. What is your take on the injuries. I know the medical staff know more about injuries than I do but I didn't like seeing both players with injured legs/Knees having to walk off from half way across the oval. In the case of Jordan Furnell he hopped on one leg the last 20 metres.
Surely they should be carried off or on a stretcher/ambulance. Brendan Dew almost fell down the stairs in the players race after the game as he was unaided in pain and unsteady on his legs.

That being said the trainers and medical staff do a great job.
