How do the Maggies manage to retain their juniors yet only field an A's n B's? I imagine they'd have 10-15 ready made players graduate to senior footy every year meaning plenty miss out on a kick week to week. Especially when I hear they named an unavailable Handby in the B's on a couple occasions in 2015 leaving a 2 man bench, robbing a local of a kick.

Some interesting observations about the possible inclusion of Matt Jaensch into the Hills League.
Is it that hard to believe that he may come back and play for Hahndorf for minimal wage. Are we all that cynical to think that everyone is motivated by money??
In terms of Hahndorf's marquee player, I would assume it is Hourigan????
Either way it is a great inclusion for the league, and certainly adds to Hahndorf's depth.
But make no mistake, one player cannot win a flag on his own!!!

Isn't it great that we all can come on here and defame, insult and spread rumours hiding under a fictitious name. I would have thought the AFL would be all over a " 3 strikes". Perhaps they don't read these forums. And I bet that Afterthesiren is a saint "ALLEGEDLY "

Can we get back to talking about the bloody footy???
I'm sure there is plenty of players out there that have done worse that Matty Jaencsh in the league (one Onkas player has done something a million times worst and served his time and no one brings that up at all)
Obviously he has got some demons in his head and if being back in his home town of Hahndorf helps him get through it then by all means let's support it. Embrace it and enjoy the challenge, but let's remember one player isn't a whole team.

Above all else it is exciting to have someone who is six months out of the afl system playing in the HFL.
Should be an excellent experience for his team mates, and well as the guys he plays against.

The amount of $$$ Lofty are paying Whitey (someone who openly doesn't want to play footy this year) and Osbourne (someone who doesnt have an ankle) is ridiculous! Neither would be playing in our A grade.

When you consider all the outrageous stories about what blokes get paid, this one is right up there. Lofty, you must be an awwwwful football club.

Was driving along pine ave last night and seen a few chaps running around Hahndorf oval. I wonder if Matt Jaensch is on the track preparing for the 2016 season and yes he was

Oh I get it now, Grumpy is suggesting Matt is taking performance enhancing drugs like the Essendon players were.

No wonder I didn't get it!

The answer to that question is to probably ask who are the people that are suggesting he has had three strikes, and are they reliable sources of information?

I can't believe this thread has not had any moderation given the litigious nature of what is being said about the guy. I must admit the circumstances don't add up to me, despite the full page story in the Courier, I am not sure I buy the "story" as it's been told to date. What we have here is a guy in his mid twenties, who after 7 years has got sick of his job, and chucked it in. But because he is a "footballer" he must have done something wrong, and illegal to boot. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't but until the full story comes out the speculation is just that... speculation.

I dont have enough fingers and toes to count the number of times that I have got sick of my job and felt like chucking it in. And there hasnt been any 'story' about it except that I have just got sick of it. Corona Man you are right, its all speculation and thats why these forums are 3/4 BS and 1/4 meaningful content. Cant wait to now read a purposeful post about footy this season. I havent heard much about Ironbank lately how are they shaping up..they must be hanging out for a great year after some promising glimpses.

I absolutely agree with corona and wazz.
It is really easy to take cheap shots, and use the phrase "I have heard...."
I guess that is the nature of sites like this, but it can lead to some pretty ordinary stuff (the truth of which is unimportant) being said!

As far as Ironbank are concerned I have heard they have picked up a very good key forward.
They certainly have some work to do as their depth last year let them down.
They had some good top end talent, but were not able to cover the injuries they had.
In fact they played over 40 in their A grade last year. A situation that would be difficult for any team to cover.
