How would you improve www.sanfl.com.au

Postby Wedgie » Sun Dec 11, 2005 8:54 am

Just interested in others thoughts on what they'd like to see on the official SANFL website.

Personally I'd probably like a stats section and more historical component and obviously I'd like for it to be updated more regularly, lot of empty pages at the moment.
I'm unsure about the current design, it might look alright if it was scrubbed up a little bit.

What do others think they would like to see on the official site and what they can see as being improved?

most of what you said wedgie...other official sites for sport, albeit more pro status, are updated immediately...that site is lucky to get updated in weeks....

Exactly what I though when I read the topic, simmilar to what you do on the Roost.
It would be too much to expect you to do it for all clubs, but if you could get 1 or more on board from each club it would be a great asset to the site.

Fix up the front page....make it easier on the eye.

More easily available stats on games and players (rather than having to click through 5 different pages of the news archive to find the right match you were after).

An in depth history component that has Most/Highest/Lowest/Biggest stats. Detailed Club vs Club stats as well.

Better articles. Better reviews.

If the SANFL doesnt want to be portrayed as a second rate competition then getting rid of the second rate website would be a good start.

A Live Scoreboard similar to the NBL would be good, one like the AFL with stats, etc would probably be a bit costly but updated live scores on the front page would be great.

the teams each week would be a bonus. Living in viccy i dun wanna have to order the Adelaide advertiser on a Friday just for the teams. The advertiser isn't a bad read but the Melbourne paper is alot better even if they don't talk much about the VFL.

I'd love to see a live scores section, might be a bit much to ask though.

Perhaps even just a change of template, that one's getting boring, more match reviews etc. would be nice aswell, could even be done through some supporters, i'm sure there'd be volunteers.

The question is what can't you improve on the SANFL website?

I just put a topic up asking for some statistical information on the 80's and some pathetic little person has deleted it.

Ive said it before Wedgie and il say it again change the system of moderation.

I think you're getting http://www.safooty.net mixed up with http://www.sanfl.com.au dasher, read the original post again.
And I think you're getting a tad paranoid as your stats question is still on this forum and I've been the only mod on here since you posted it!

lmao, what are you smoking today?

My original post in this topic (and take extra note of the website discussed, ie the official SANFL website):
