(For this quiz, all votes given between 1978 and 1985 have been halved, and are related to the counts from 1945 onwards)

1. Which two clubs have had 5 players poll ten votes or more in a season? And which seasons were they? (Clue - one team was in the 70s and the other in this decade) Norwood in 1974 and Central in 2001

2. Name the players from both clubs.
Norwood 1974 - Phil Carman - 13, Roger Woodcock - 11, Michael Taylor - 11, Ross Dillon - 10, Rodney Seekamp -10.
Central 2001 - Heath Hopwood - 11, Martin McKinnon - 11, Marco Bello - 10, Rick MacGowan - 10, Nathan Steinberner - 10.


3. Which club polled the least amount of votes in 1979? Port - 90 votes (Equivalent of 45 under the single 3-2-1 system)

4. Which year did the winner receive the Magarey but did not get any first preference votes? 1998, Andrew Osborn - he polled 7 2nd preference and 2 3rd preference votes.

5. Where was the Count held in 1972? Trades Hall

6. Who was the oldest winner of the Medal from 1945 onwards? Don Lindner in 1967 - 32 years, 6 months, 19 days

7. The same question, but the youngest winner? Tony McGuinness in 1982 - 18 years, 4 months, 7 days

8. Name the six winners of the Medal to have only polled 16 votes? (Two of these players were joint winners) Ron Benton in 1957 (Jim Deane awarded retrospectively), Gary Window in 1965, Scott Hodges in 1990, Andrew Osborn in 1998, Jade Sheedy and Tim Weatherald in 2002 Jeff Pash in 1939 (Ray McArthur awarded retrospectively) is another pre 1945)

9. Where was the Count held in 1991? Hindley Parkroyal

10. Two part question: Who finished equal 2nd in 1974? (The other player was Rick Davies, this particular player would have been ineligible to have won it anyway, as he was reprimanded in a practice match) Which player was he reported for striking? Ian Wallace with 21 votes - was reprimanded for striking John 'Sam' Newman

Correct on both - I wanted to make no.4 easy to answer, cause no.1 and 2 will be tough. :)

Pretty sure Osborn is also one of those 6 players for number 8(8 2s from memory).

Number 8 also either Weatherald and Sheedy or Tony Brown and Ryan O'Connor but I can't remember tallies. :lol:

8 - Hodges is another, Antrobus with votes halved is 17.5. Atkinson and Jarman finished on 23 votes.
