That is literally the dumbest thing I have heard and I was amongst the 51,000 today.

Among other things 15 more scoring shots generally suggests you have had the better day

I only watched it on TV, but it was clear that either the Crows were pathetic, or Port were great.
Either way there was a vast difference, and the Crows have some serious reviewing to do.

The Pre season hype of the new dynamic duo of Mckernan/Podsiadly from dicks like Steven Rowe and un-educated supporters was always bound to bite them in the ass. The Crows are not that bad when you accept they are a mid table contender. When you have dilutions of grandeur there is really only one way to go.

I'd suggest they will be 0-3 and the review you suggested will commence.

Real estate agents. Applied for a house and after much difficulty because the agency a) did not have an office, at least not one they disclose to the public, b) did not have a working email address, they finally rang us to say that we'd got the house. Terrific. The next day they said the owner was having second thoughts about our cats. (I'm lying about the cats from now on - NO ONE likes that we have cats, even with so-called pet-friendly houses.) Nevertheless, they said it would be fine, and arranged a lease starting date. Then I didn't hear from them for two days; they never returned my calls, and they put the house up for inspection again. NOW the owner is apparently away on business so it's all up in the air until he gets back. F***ing hell, if you weren't sure about giving us the lease because of our pets, why did you tell us we'd got the place?!

I too know what it's like Fisho being dicked around by agents who to be fair to them in this instance usually have to work around difficult owners. It seems the agent wanted to give the place to you but didn't have the 100% go ahead from the owner so really the agent never should've given the okay even if they wanted to do so. I'm forever getting stuck in between my real estate agent and the tight arse owner.

Good point. We got lucky with the owner of our current house, who is an absolute top bloke and wanted to sell us the place. (Our agents are jerks but our landlord rules.) But this house, the agent's kept going on about how the owner is a banker, which rather implies that the owner has been going on to her about how he is a banker. Hmmmm. Ah well, hopefully we get an answer soon. I'm still lying about the cats next time. We have three so people automatically assume we're crazy cat people. We didn't set out to have three - we took in our mate's cat because she would've been put down otherwise.

The banker part doesn't sound too good lol My mother is also a renter and the owner of her unit spends five months of the year with his wife living up in Arnhem Land helping aboriginal communities but he's as tight as anything won't spend a cent on the place and anything that needs to be fixed he insists on doing himself even though he's one of those blokes who thinks he can fix everything but can't. He buggered up her toilet when he tried to fix that himself and if anything goes wrong when he's up in the NT she has to wait until he gets back. Unless she wants to pay for it to get fixed herself which she can't really afford. Just too many people out there buying & then renting places out without wanting to take on the responsibility of everything that entails.

That's great you took in your mates cat and given (in my experience) how few rental properties allow you to have pets I would probably lie too and once the agent/owner finds out they would probably be reluctant to tear up your lease, assuming you're a good tenant ;)

Obviously I'm not on the ball as a landlord.

My tenants had a TV antenna problem which I had the agent send a tradie to fix last year, but it recurred recently as the wiring is a bit brittle. The repair guy quoted about $150 to replace the wiring, and, while doing it, move the antenna elsewhere where the signal is better. I said, "While he is at it get him to replace the old antenna with a proper digital one."

However, the agent and I are very firm that when tenants leave the house and garden has to be restored to the condition it was in when they moved in.

Bloody hell! Other landlords should take a lesson. All of mine have always insisted on fixing everything themselves. No, that's not entirely true, actually. Our current landlord is a good bloke; our dishwasher broke so he bought a new one, and every time something goes wrong with the plumbing he sends a plumber out. The first landlord I ever had - far out. Part of the roof fell down and he came to fix it. He got it right the second time, but nearly fell off and killed himself in the process. After four attempts at a blocked drain he finally got a plumber out, which if he'd done that to begin with would've saved us a few months of flooded bathrooms. The worst was when a heavy architrave fell completely off - it could have hurt or even killed any of us if we'd been standing below - and instead of getting it fixed, he came to have a look, went 'Bugger that, that's awful' and left. He was a nice guy but his DIY was a bit scary.
