Re: Yorke Peninsula League

Our league is hopeless! No balls to make decisions but make stupid rules so the same team as years go by rort the system. This same club is loading up again and will be able to fit all these blokes in for $4000 a week. Who is going to police this ?

Not to worry. Half the country clubs I know are ...

Re: Adelaide Plains Football League

Good move from Angle Vale to join the Adelaide Plains league.
They are closer to the other clubs around them than in the ammos. The North Eastern League would have been too bigger jump in standard and the Barossa comp would have been way out of their league. Seems a good fit for the club. They might ...

Re: Grade Cricket

You have no idea C Horse. Financially sound with money in the bank, consistent small profits and no debt. Facilities are excellent. Football club relationship fine. Henley has always been West Torrens area. The main problem is West Torrens, Woodville and Port don't have any representation on the ...

Re: Grade Cricket

Luckily my pop corn has a long expiry date, believe SACA have made their decision, parliamentary inquiry a waste of time.

Better get a lawyer son, better get a real good one

Hoping your pop corn has an expiry date to 2050 and beyond.
If clowns like you think that either WT or PA won't be playing ...

Re: Grade Cricket

The Prime Minister is on hand to announce funding for the Mt Barker Sporting Precinct if the Liberals win Government SACA also in attendance......

The Mount Barker Eagles???

There would be more chance of being called the "Mt Barker Adelaide Buffalos"
As each day goes by, there is less chance ...

Re: Grade Cricket

So are WT and Port working towards a merger for the 2017/18 season?

Merger won't happen at all and both sides will be a part of the SACA competition for many years to come. You can bet on it.
More than happy to take anyones bet, if they think either or both clubs, won't be around at the end of ...

Re: Points System Is Crucifying Country Footy

Some great posts and discussion on this thread, I wonder if the 'SACFL' and I use that term loosely have taken the time to read any of this?

It would appear based on the large majority that they should at least seek feedback from clubs, not leagues, as many on here are upset by the representation ...

Re: Points System Is Crucifying Country Footy

Too many leagues have voted no for this to work and many are sweating off on what happens when these leagues move away from the SACFL. It's all turning into a circus and won't work. No need anyone worrying about it getting off the ground. Won't happen in most leagues and any leagues that adopt it ...

Re: Points System Is Crucifying Country Footy

Points can be policed by anyone and infringements can be quickly and easily noted and penalised.

Salary caps are easily circumvented which defeats the purpose (e.g. skimming of gate takings to pay cash in hand, third party payments, raffles being diverted to players without going through the books ...

Re: Re: Points System Is Crucifying Country Footy

One league in country WA has the points and the player points are printed in brackets beside the player's name in the league's Football Budget. No instances of clubs playing sides over the maximum points. Despite no other leagues using PPS in the region, clubs don't seem to be overspending and the ...

Re: Re: Points System Is Crucifying Country Footy

Instead of finding ways (which is quite easy to do) in beating the salary cap rules. Why didn't the leagues and clubs simply vote NO? That would have been the easiest. Just tell the CFB to stick their rules where the sun doesn't shine and run the competitions as the clubs see fit. Simply doesn't ...

Re: Points System Is Crucifying Country Footy

The name of this thread would be more accurate if it read...... the points system is crucifying clubs that have no idea when it comes to recruiting the right people and/or sustainably managing it's player payment system.

It could also be named. "The points and salary cap system, is currently ...

Re: Club Payments Crackdown

Can confirm that one league in a westerly direction from Adelaide, have already met with club presidents. This league have apparently decided to walk away from the SACFL if the rules as they are now written, are implemented. Word is that it could be a snowball effect and others could also go. If one ...

Re: Club Payments Crackdown

That's absolutely brilliant if the BLG have also joined the other leagues, in not accepting the salary cap. The threat of not being allowed back into a league couldn't be enforceable under law, so that threat would never bother anyone. The other big problem, to the leagues who are throwing these ...

SFL on Channel 44

Was at the Adelaide Oval barracking for the Country side, as they demolished the City team. Was talking to Craig Warman the president down on the bench. He was the team manager of the Country side. Good to see the SFL president as the team manager. Craig said that the SFL have been invited to do a ...
