Re: Grade Cricket

Would of thought that SACA would of had every scenario covered considering their financial position over the clubs. If it does go down the legal path have the clubs got the $$ to cover their expenses and if they win will they have any left over to run a club effectively?

I wouldn't be confident ...

Re: Grade Cricket

Nice two page spread in the SACA stumps mag on AUCC. Great PR for the club on the back of SACA media. No mention of the back room deals with Council and SACA about shafting western suburbs with new grounds to effectively force mergers to make it fit. The stench is getting stronger.
I guess we will ...

Re: Grade Cricket

How does it not concern Adelaide? You lot have continually slandered the Club and insinuated that they received preferential treatment from a SACA Staff member. Far as I can see it does concern ACC........ Our club accreditation is far from perfect but it does score very well after sailing pretty ...

Re: Grade Cricket

C Horse, you are so wrong on so many points, but that will all come out in the PE.

That document put out by SACA has more holes than swiss cheese, again, that will all come out in the PE.

SACA are not telling the truth claiming we agreed to merge, this is totally false. All correspondence to them ...

Re: Grade Cricket

With the way the SACA has worked this whole thing (I.e. Unprofessionally, unfairly with bully tactics) heater and c horse do have a point that by West Torrens leaving open the option of considering merger talks, they have put their hand up as a target by SACA.

However, what choice did they have and ...

Re: Grade Cricket

Also drove past Tapleys Hill Rd / Burbridge Rd corner where the Uni cricket ovals are being developed. Seems to be coming along. Anyone know what they're being used for and when they'll be ready? Just spare cricket facilities at this stage are they?

Re: Grade Cricket

Luckily my pop corn has a long expiry date, believe SACA have made their decision, parliamentary inquiry a waste of time.

Better get a lawyer son, better get a real good one

Once again Hound, you are so far off the mark it is not funny!

Will still be 13 teams next season, guaranteed. More ...

Hoping your pop corn has an expiry date to 2050 and beyond.

The Prime Minister is on hand to announce funding for the Mt Barker Sporting Precinct if the Liberals win Government SACA also in attendance......

The Mount Barker Eagles???

There would be more chance of being called the "Mt Barker Adelaide Buffalos"
As each day goes by, there is less chance ...

Re: Grade Cricket

I guess wait and see the outcome of the meeting Monday night.

Every outcome from a meeting so far has been a further threat to the existence of WT and PA.

The same people are still on the board. Clearly those involved in Grade cricket that are on the Board are pretty keen to get rid of the two ...

Re: Grade Cricket

Looks like Port Adelaide and West Torrens will definitely be part of the Premier div 1 comp next season. But will Glenelg................. Are they indebted to the debt ridden football club so much they are probably not viable. Maybe their financial situation should be scrutinised as much as the ...

Re: Grade Cricket

So are WT and Port working towards a merger for the 2017/18 season?

Merger won't happen at all and both sides will be a part of the SACA competition for many years to come. You can bet on it.
More than happy to take anyones bet, if they think either or both clubs, won't be around at the end of ...

Re: Grade Cricket

Does anyone know why the first couple of rounds of grade cricket were swapped around?

We raised the issue with Delegates and programming committee, but did it very delicately. We did not want to be seen to be complaining, with everything we have gone thru the last nine months trying to survive ...

Re: Grade Cricket

Glad that someone has finally spoken out.

No surprises really. I've said it before and will again, the way this has been handled by the SACA Board is nothing short of a disgrace.

I wonder what the consequences will be?

I can only talk of the club I was involved with, but all players paid subs and the volunteers along with the players were responsible for raising funds to keep the club financially in order.

All extra cash/grants etc were used to improve facilities or pay ...

Re: Grade Cricket

Port clean sweep Woodville with not 1 of the chasing teams avoiding the follow on totals.

Good thing that WDCC are safe with results like that

A possible case of Karma after Woodville 'massaged' the draw so that their bye would be a 1-day game in Round One rather than in Round Two as it would ...

Re: Grade Cricket

Literally the exact same thing has happened with blokes who will never make it as bats. Good batsmen still make runs against those bowlers, but getting lesser batsmen out when they can camp on the front shoe and dead bat the ball for 30 overs is a whole different kettle of fish. Like I said before ...

Re: Grade Cricket

Has there ever been nice weather for a Tuesday night Twenty20?

Well... last week was ok I know but it sure seems there are a lot of grey overcast days when any other night of the week would be perfect
Surely tonight is the final nail in the coffin for Mid-Week 20/20 matches....no way a red ball ...
