Re: Things that give you the sh1ts

My understanding is that Australia Day celebrates the formation of the one country when all the states agreed to form the national federation. .

... That would be the first of January

Agree with what's further above, just make it the first monday in February and be done with it.

It's like gay ...

I've also heard a rumour about PAOC possibly folding, so maybe there is some substance to it.

PAOC had a fair odd 15 years since.

Re: The South Australian Political Landscape

What intrigues me with Clipsal is when they claim the $65 million beer net benefit what accounting (if any) is caused for the lack of productivity it relates in.

People being at work less and averse to entering the CBD during Clipsal week undoubtedly has an effect. Likely not enough to cancel $65 ...

Re: The South Australian Political Landscape

53% of the TPP and losing is not unusual in SA electoral history.
Playford engineered it so the city was represented by 11 seats and the rural areas were represented by 26 seats even though less than a third of the population lived in the country areas.......sounds fair.

And a Liberal Premier ...

Re: The South Australian Political Landscape

And a Liberal Premier ended that system in the greatest example of political self-sacrifice since, well, ever.

The Constitution was amended to try and ensure that the Party which won 2PP would form government.

Just because it has happened in the past does not mean it's a good thing.

What ...

4 Department chiefs told to clean out their desks this morning.

He did say he wanted to start cleaning out the shop front, so good on him for getting into it. Obviously has his eye of a certain setup, so if you work in the SA public service you could expect a restructure coming pretty soon.

Might I also say... Well done Premier Marshall for standing up for human beings in the face of the easy popularity winning alternative.

“There are too many people in South Australia who are experiencing homelessness,” he told the gathering at Adelaide Oval’s Magarey Room.

“And whilst a lot of ...

Re: U18's competition-the future of our game

If a u18 doesn't get a game at a SANFL club, where do they generally play if they you are a Div 1 club? Div 1 Ressies?

Depends on many many factors. Complete horses for courses. Have had kids straight into the As, some in the C's. Work together with the league club to work out what's best for the ...
