Re: Channel 7 announced by SANFL as preferred telecast partn
Radio is simple ... assume the person is not at the ground and you have to paint the WHOLE picture, who, where, when, how etc. ie their entire understanding of what is happening comes from what you tell them.
TV is harder given the picture tells a lot of that ... what the commentators need to do is ...

Re: Adelaide Crows Reserves 2014
Agreed . state league is what we are .... and the best state league is what we should strive to be (not 2nd best comp to the AFL).
I much prefer the Crows (SANFL) being referred to their state league rather than reserves team.
As for Sanfulll ... I also agree but alas one of the highest ranking ...

Re: Rumours and Player Movement Discussions for 2014
Just on the zone thing, once a player turns a certain age ... I think 19 ... if they are not on a SANFL club senior list then there is no transfer fee payable to the SANFL club they are zoned to. The transfer is with the suburban / country club he is playing for.

Re: SANFL Draw
And that leads to an interesting question ... do people support a club or a competition?
From my pre-media days I certainly was more concerned about HOW my team played, rather that WHO my team played.

Re: The Magpies Are Now The AFL Power Reserves
Re NFL -
For starters a lot of the 45 man squad get to play on game day.
Whilst there are only 11 on the field its a separate starting 11 for offences, 11 for defence and a few for special teams (kicker, long snapper, punter).
Then within each unit players come on and off for specific game ...

Re: The never ending No AFL in the SANFL whinge thread
For the record
2014 Minor Round (90 games) - 253,187 (2,813 per game)
2013 Minor Round (90 games) - 235,721 (2,619 per game)
From an overall "whole of competition" perspective I don't think you can make the case less people came the SANFL matches last year than 2013.

Re: The never ending No AFL in the SANFL whinge thread
Yeah 19000+ posts averaging over 6 per day, not much of a contribution that.
By my count Big Phil has been involved in the media for 8-9 seasons now so he has hardly left here as soon as paying gigs came up.
Given some of the crap he has had to put up here with over time, especially recently

Semi Related - another standalone VFL club on verge of leaving
They had 4 in 2016 - Frankston went broke, if North Ballarat leave that would mean just Port Melbourne & Williamstown left as non AFL aligned.
Board meeting to decide North Ballarat's VFL fate

Re: The never ending No AFL in the SANFL whinge thread
Didn't the SAAFL exist as an Amateur League not affiliated with the SANFL for decades?
Hasn't the SA Amateur Soccer been unaffiliated with FFSA for ages hence why SA has only 2 teams in FFA Cup?
I was involved in Gridiron in Australia back in the 1990s where QLD, NSW, Vic & WA all had 2 seperate ...

Re: Crows reserves supporters
Refer FOOT-e TIMES Daily from Tuesday & it shows Round 2 Crowds for recent years going back to 2009.
Last weekend's 5 game TOTAL was lower than all of the previous 4 game TOTAL.
m
There is the possibility of some high drawing games this Easter round and next week with ANZAC Day so hopefully things ...

Re: 2014 State Game - SANFL v VFL @ Port Melbourne (Sat 31/5
Well it matters to a few of us, the Life FM crew made it to Melbourne in one piece, the radio gear works at the Oval (great oval by the way)
Now checked in hotel and we have time up our selve to enjoy being a tourist for a few hours.

Re: Average and median crowd figures to Round 8
Every year I have collected crowd figures ... back to 2004, they always start strong and drop as the year progresses. This year is no different.
Comparison this year with last is tricky due to the restructure now 18 rounds v 5 games against 23 rounds v 4 or 4 games in years gone by,
But we still ...
