Re: HFL Division 1 (Central)
Yeah, it's also an AFL guideline but I think leagues can get around it. There are some country leagues that have 3 year ages gaps currently due to lack of numbers. Kids are having to fill in for older age groups now anyway because clubs can't fill teams. Some clubs will have 4 year age gaps if they ...

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts
Seriously how stupid are some people. The CFS have put out a tweet for people to stay away from one tree hill road as it making it difficult for fire fighters to get through.

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts
Yeah, was having a bit of a crack at wider society, what everyone thinks is so important but really is artificial, compared to things like food production and nature (including fires).

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts
Yeah, good point re time, and also these days more sports are more accessible (at least on telly).
Different people having a different affinity to teams at different levels doesn't make them any less of a fan, but the thrust of the original posts was where the top level is their only interest. For ...

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts
IF the game of cricket is to be looked at, in addition to the safety aspect, should be the way it is taught coached and encouraged to be played. As Gideon Haigh said on Offsiders the weekend after, with helmets, big bats, placid pitches and short boundaries, batsmen have been able to think they can ...

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts
Agree with the posters above about how Australia Day seems to have become jingo-fied, as Magellan put it, over the last 10-15 years. As a kid in the '80's I can't really recall too much happening other than it being mentioned, and then in the 90's it seemed to be celebrated more without being over ...

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts
Sounds like a crap day
How does anyone leave their keys in the ignition?
Got me f***ed as well , it's going to be a very quiet night if I get home.
EFA
Luckily the RAA only took 20min, top bloke, got it sorted. I'm biting my tongue at home, the missus knows my mood is as black as a dogs ...

Had to get the lad to Glenelg Oval by 5:30pm yesterday, left work early to go collect him and then stopped home to get changed, I left Prospect at a tad before 4:30pm and got there a couple of minutes late, South Road is pure horse shit and will be for some time, yeah it's great having 19 lanes ...

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts
I'm not even going to start, the anger I still feel 7 years on turns to rage in an instant.
I haven't had to encounter this with either miss 13, 11 or 4 but i feel like those kinds of scenarios would be the hardest to deal with as parent. Just thought of one of my children being bullied also ...

Not a fan? I love daylight saving.
November to February great.
Piss it off in October and March, doesn't fit in with the natural rhythms of days or often the weather, especially when we are 30 minutes ahead of our time zone all year round.

Re: Things that give you the sh1ts
How does daylight saving affect you in March?
By turning the best mornings of the year into dark shitholes.
By not following the natural flows of the changing of the seasons.
By turning up to work feeling very dull.
By going against natural bio-rythms
By creating a certain danger of more people ...

All the "what's in it for me" budget stories we'll be bombarded with tomorrow.
Why the f*ck should there be anything in it for you? The only thing that matters is what is good for the country.

Re: HFL Division 2 (Country)
How about when Gum last beat the Brookers in a final? Has it ever happened? Early 70's?
Could be a first Albeit meetings in the major round would have been rare since KFC joined the HFL in 71.

Re: HFL Division 2 (Country)
I think the biggest shame is that comp was finally relatively even compared to the years when we had teams getting beaten by 2-300 points each week of a decade or two ago
Correct.
It may be down a little at the moment, but a bit of hard work will pull it through.

Re: Things that you rate!
Obscure trivia
Cronulla lost to Brisbane in the NRL yesterday and apparently it's the first time an NRL/NSWRL side has lost three consecutive games despite scoring more tries than their opponents in each.

September mornings - soft and light just after 6am.
Have to make the most of them because the morons that run this state deprive us of them in March.
