Re: ASCA

I don't know the strength of Flagstaff Hills previous league but I think ASCA have been very kind to "gift" them Section 4 for their A grade and section 9 for their B grade! So the gradings are done Moe?

Yeah mate they were sent to club secretaries on Friday.

Flagstaff Hill Section 4… wow. A1 in the Hills League to Section 4 ASCA?

Looking forward to seeing this draw that’s coming out…

Re: ASCA

The Section 1 gf tomorrow is an absolute farce. Basically the entire Rambler side is out with covid and the Association have decided to play on. What an absolute joke.

What was the Exec supposed to do? Abandon the game and give them the flag? Agreed - play on. Truly great teams win through adversity.

Ramblers from what ive been told wanted a postponement not abandoning. Ramblers have 3 sides in grand finals tomorrow and they dont want to harm their b or c grade sides. Have to pull in lower players.

A gf win against a team with half their side full of d and e grade players is a hollow victory.

Pull the B graders up then rather than playing D and E graders.

Re: ASCA

I visited Billabong Oval today as I was in the area. There’s parking a 100m walk away and toilets at the ground too. It’s quite picturesque. The ground is a bit weirdly shaped and the pitch isnt exactly in good nick but I have no issues playing there. However the fact that they just let a successful club like WYC go down two sections and put a completely unknown team in based on exaggerated truths, is a shambles.

Re: ASCA

Sounds like you need to worry about things that actually impact the comp like the Sutton Derby Western Youth fiasco has. Who cares if an umpire wears shorts. We aren’t professionals. On that note, who do we think are the flag threats nearing the halfway mark of the season?

Re: ASCA

On the topic, at Coro we have lost 4 bowlers this season from our A grade due to a combination of work and family commitments. The obvious flow on effects are the B grade lads being promoted and the C grade and so on. Our B grade are in Section 2 and our C grade in Section 4 now. Rather than sook and seek demotion, it’s absolutely the opposite. The lads are looking forward to the challenge of playing up higher and I’m proud of them for stepping up. Good luck to all for the upcoming season.

Looking at your team for tomorrow there's 7 from your semi final team from last season playing then an 8th (Hunter) is playing B grade, plus 2 playing tomorrow that didn’t play in that semi (Muggridge and Champion) played some A grade last season.

Yeah those 3 plus Gyawali who won our A grade bowling trophy the season before last (didn’t play finals as he was overseas). Good luck tomorrow!

Moe wrote:What would be your response to a team trying for an outright win with only 22 overs left in the game, and only 3 runs ahead on first innings?

“Typical Ramblers” would be the response.

Re: ASCA

Congratulations to WYC defeating Morphettville Park in Section 1 today.

It’s crazy how butt-hurt some people get about park cricket. The sledging yesterday was equal parts funny and pathetic from Morphettville Park. Clubs ARE actually allowed to recruit players. Good luck for the year with the sooky attitude, it wont serve you very well. Cheers.

Re: ASCA

Sad day.

Important Club Update – 2025 Season

Western Youth Centre Cricket Club

After a lot of discussion and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to withdraw our Section 3 and Section 7 teams for the remainder of the 2025 season.

This has not been taken lightly. A combination of ongoing injuries, reduced player availability and teams being moved into higher divisions over recent seasons has made it increasingly challenging to field competitive and reliable sides each week.

We have done everything we can over the past few rounds to find a solution, however continued forfeits are not sustainable for the club moving forward.

We will continue to field our Section 2 side and are working hard behind the scenes to support those players for the rest of the season. We are also exploring options for some affected players to still be involved through permitted arrangements at other clubs.

Thank you to all players, coaches, volunteers and supporters who have stuck with us. Your support means everything as we look to reset, rebuild and come back stronger.
I'm sorry, but this is weak as piss to take out your B grade side as well.
It doesn't matter if you cop a few floggings over the course, it happens to every club now and then.
I can understand the C grade being yanked, but now it looks like half the players are propping up Phantoms, who are in just the same position as WYC, and that's not helping anyone.

Nobody is saying it, but I will.
The mass importing of non Australian players to clubs, like WYC, South Road and Warradale are short term solutions, but will lead to clubs demises.

Having said that I'll address why I haven't posted in here for a while.
Bugger me, you Coromandel dicks have very short fuses.
An off the cuff, sarcastic remark, and you blokes lose ya bloody mind.

Truth is, King tried Ramblers first.
Told he would have to pay subs, like everyone else, and no one gets paid.
Went to you flogs, and you do pay.
Yep, clubs are allowed to recruit. Paying players in hard wicket cricket, please!
Wonder how Matt feels now with his old club in such a state.

1) Literally not a single person cares why you haven’t posted here in a while.

2) You were the one losing your mind sooking on a forum about your team losing in round 1. Sooking runs rife in that club, on-field and off-field. Wah, we lost a game, wah, a player another team recruited made a 50, wah. Wah wah wah. (There’s our short fuse again).

3) Your facts are just plain wrong. Coromandel isnt paying Kingy a cent. You’re a joke talking about someone else’s financial circumstances on a forum without having your facts right. You’re laughable like your club is.

Try again whoever you are. Get Morphies to write another sooking email about short pitched bowling or wet grounds to the association, then jog on.
