Re: Adelaide Footy League Division 5 - 2019

Their team sheet from our C grade game still has 26 named..
Their B grade team sheet vs Lockleys doesn't even have Caleb Burgoyne named.. but there are photos of him running around on the AdFL FB page.

Seems he was "Dempsey Kelly" that day.. probably hadn't finished his registration by game time so you know **** it, no one will know.

That’s not good at all if correct

Imo that kind of breach is pretty significant and needs to be stamped out harshly and on every occasion.

Dangerous precedent if you start letting teams get a bit cheeky with that.

Mate of mine got 10 or 12 games from memory for playing a player yet to be cleared under another name. This was around 12 years ago.

Re: Glenelg V Crows

For sure . Id also like to see suburban ground finals. It would have a much better atmosphere than AO and look much better on TV.

I like it but where would the Crows play? If they have the right to host. I would also think somehow Port hosting at Alberton would turn in to a massive whinge, and not about pie shortage.

Re: The Ashes 2019

Turds can not be polished.

This is the worst display of umpiring ever. Thinking its not or trying to protect it is a lost cause.

Lol

So when watching it live you thought nah that’s not out it hit the stumps not the bat or pad

It made a ‘woody’ sound and beat the outside of the bat, off course the umpire gave it!

My first thought was it hit the stumps. Is it time with the other technology used to have the bails light up when the stumps are hit?

Re: Adelaide Crows 2019

Adelaide's third lowest crowd at AO and lowest this year UK Fan .

Bad time slot
Ordinary opponents
Trains didn’t work
Reported apricot slice shortages
Chardonnay fridge not chilling

All genuine reasons why the crowd was low

Happy to see you talking about crowds Mr Boon. I doubt you will next week.

So you guys are trying to tell me that the wallpapering over cracks move to Adelaide Oval isnt working 5 years after spending $600 mill of tax payers money.

Re: Adelaide Crows 2019

Betts is done from a playing perspective, can't believe anyone would be offering him a playing deal.
Exactly, take his 12 goals against Gold Coast off of his tally and it leaves him with 24 from 17 outings, 2 bags of 3 goals in there too.

I love the guy, love what he's done and what he can do, he just doesn't do it often enough anymore.

As a former forward, don't ever use bag to describe 3 goals ;)

Re: AFL 2019 season

AFL fixtures chief has come out and said "Maximising attendances is the centrepiece of the finals fixture"

We already know that Geelong won't get a home final if they play Richmond or Collingwood.
So by maximising attendance the first round of finals should look like this, if the next few rounds goes as predicted.

Geel v Rich - MCG
Bris v WCE - Optus
GWS v Ade - Adelaide Oval
Coll v Port - MCG

Re: Things that make you laugh

A stemhead at work tries to copy one of the managers who always uses the term "stakeholders" in emails.

He chucked it in an email 3 times last week but wrote "stack-holders", it wasn't that bad though as only about 25 people seen it and joked about it asking each other if we could hold each others stacks.

He has gone and done it again today, only this time customers have been included on the email, it is awesome as he's an arrogant prick.

There were a few more errors on it too I might add.

Stemhead, my mate says that all the time

A guy I used to work with sent an email out addressed to the CEO and other managers inviting them down the Coorong for a spot of fishing and camping one weekend. He spelt the CEO's name wrong

Re: AFL 2019 season

The Bont was very lucky. His hit on Haynes was assessed as low impact, resulting in a $2k fine. Turns out Haynes has a fractured larynx and will miss multiple weeks. If the MRO had the medical report, Bont would have got 2-3 weeks and been ineligible for the Brownlow.

Sounds like someone has access to the umpires votes

Cheers, I lok forward to you cheering for us in weeks 1 to 3.
With our record after byes its hard to see us doing that well though with potentially 2 of them coming up.

Its just a matter of who loses to Richmond in the GF in my opinion.

PS Any chance you could do my gardening over the next few weeks? I'll be busy. ;)

Re: 2019 Qualifying Final - Powerserves v Crowserves

So.... It's all about a great opportunity for the younger players to prepare for the AFL.
Don't bother reading the article, it just repeats the above in different phrases about 4 or 5 times.
I guess it makes a break from the usual "Yeah, Nah, we're just taking it one week at a time." but I've never read a finals preview like that one before.

Geez, and my missus thinks I'm a negative whinger. LBH, if he said what you think would constitute a good finals preview you still wouldn't like it.

I'm not going on a camel again, I'm not going on a camel again!
Now you blokes don't even try to hide it.
Winning a flag is definitely not a priority.
I wonder why there's almost no one posting on here anymore?

Re: Port Adelaide 2019

Why do clubs give three year contracts to fringe type players?

Can understand giving Bonner two years, but why not give Farrel two as well, not three like he got?

He has not proved anything yet, make them work a bit harder first I reckon.

I'm a massive Farrell fan, I think he's got a real future ahead of him yet I agree with you and JK. He's not yet established himself ( I expect him to next year ) and sometimes if you rate a talent and want to lock it away you add a year to do so. He's R Gray's replacement, I'm not saying he's going to be another Robbie Gray, but he's the mid/fwd that can play either IMO.

Let's hope your right. I do like Bonner as a high halforward/winger type rather than a backman though, where he turns it over a bit. He seems to be cleaner up forward and has good goal sense.

Players in the AFL era to play at least 20 games in their debut season and average at least 15 disposals and 1.3 goals per game :
1991 John Klug ( 25 years old )
1991 Darren Jarman ( 24 )
2019 Connor Rozee ( 19 )
