Re: Round 8

I can't believe in this day and age we still have the ******* bounce.
And let's just attempt it randomly, yeah great rule.
Dumbest ******* aspect in the game, and that's from someone who spent 95% of his time in ruck.

Re: Port Adelaide 2021

PRISON BAR JUMPERS SELLOUT
Sales of Port’s heritage guernsey have gone nuts at the Port Store at Alberton ahead of tomorrow night’s Showdown.

The club says it has sold out of the lace-up prison-bar guernsey, while 250 of the long sleeve woollen prison bar jumpers have been sold at $250 a pop, netting the club $62,500.

The uptake in traditional merchandise comes after the AFL refused to allow Port to wear the old strip during its state clash with the Crows following objections from Collingwood who also don black and white stripes.

The marketing ploy has worked a treat. Fans engaged (and enraged), money in the bank.

Well played PAFC.
They've well and truly rooted any chance they have of wearing it again and will probably have $62,500 less in their hand out from the AFL this year.
Well played? I think not.
If they played it smart they might have had a chance but none now.

Re: Port Adelaide 2021

It will be no cash in the long run and has meant they have no chance of wearing the defunct clubs guernsey now.
They're also losing a lot of support they had for their cause by clearly breaking a contract which is also dangerous ground when you're not financially viable.
Only a loss for Port.
If they'd approached it from a logical point of view and adhered to the contract they signed they would have had 99% of the footy public behind them and also made more money in the long run.
They're ****** now.
Dumb.

Re: Round 8

It's been said before but the recruitment of Alir has been a master stroke in that it filled a spot they needed filling and it cost them stuff all.
Port's backline were great last night as there were periods when the Crows were on top in general play but they kept repelling them.
I was riding most defensive efforts as I had a multi for Port to win every quarter at the line and it was close most times.

Re: The never ending No AFL in the SANFL whinge thread

Wish he got Roy Lairds opinion. A whole lot of views from SANFL yes men, that did as they were told by the AFL teams so they could later get AFL club jobs. It's a joke how they bring up the lack of competitiveness of the afl reserves teams, due recruiting and top ups, don't mention Ports 3 sanfl grand final appearances. He does at least mention Peel Thunder was a basket case, basically did a deal behind the backs of the other wafl teams with Freo and then won two premierships.
I can't (but can) believe the Crows have had their payments to the SANFL clubs cut. Get rid of them!!

What has Port got out of it?
Their payments of $0 has been halved.

Re: Your poison of choice?

Mentioned it briefly in the footy thread but tried the Prison Bar Ale yesterday and loved it! Could drink a heap more of that! Try to avoid cans but it was a lot better than the Pirate Life Lager on tap. ( which was OK)
Very schmick cans too. What sort of Ale is it?

Sent from my SM-G781B using Tapatalk

A prison bar ale!
I drank from noon till 4am so don't ask me any questions requiring thought. ;)
I think it tasted like a cross between a session ale and a little creatures pale.
I'll definately try it again and will give it a better review then.

Re: Things that you rate!

After my son's ordeal 18 months ago he is still on the road to recovery, he has come a long way but there's still things we hope return normally.

He lost his hearing in his right ear, it's quite common for permanent hearing loss with the infection and surgery he had, he had accepted that.

18 months later out of the blue, his hearing came back yesterday afternoon, he went straight to the WCH and they just couldn't believe it.

I might be getting a bit soft in my old age but it chugged on my heart strings all afternoon/evening, even this morning I have a massive lump in my throat and I'm completely overwhelmed.

I'm a very happy man this morning.
That's awesome news mate!

Spent yesterday at a conference and then an awards night for work, a few work people flew in from Sydney for it and I spent the day with them, included a new guy who had just started with us, I knew the face but just couldn't connect to how I knew it, half way through dinner it hit me when he said he previously played a bit of Rugby, it was Phil Waugh
Not a pretty face too!
