Do Crow-Mania sells Crows thermos' or do you go for the more traditional tartan design??

Yep, I'll bring my Crows thermos. The last time I had my Glenelg one, I was cleaning the gutters, it fell, it shattered and is now at the bottom of the ladder.

Re: The 2014 season no AFL in the SANFL whinge thread

And I would contend that I would not have gone to the centrals crows game this year had I not had a free ticket.
And there it is in the proverbial nutshell, folks. The SANFL has sacrificed attendance and membership from dyed in the wool long term fans who would put their money behind their convictions, only to attract bludging freeloaders like our compatriot beenymacca here. Let them abuse first-order statistical measures as much as they like; nobody is being fooled.

Re: The 2014 season no AFL in the SANFL whinge thread

Why should we cater for them?
We are the Premiers, should be looking after our fans first and foremost
So you'd rather have say 6k at a 3pm game at your club's home ground than say 10k at a 2pm game for the sake of looking after your own? I hope you're not on the NFC board.
Yep, sick of being dictated to by the AFL and the two Reserve sides. Its bad enough our season was shortened and the GF moved dates. Its about time the SANFL stopped bowing down to them and make their own decisions. Play the game at the regular timeslot. As for the crowd, It wouldnt bother me if Crows or Port fans never attended SANFL games, personally I dont want them there
Sounds like something Hitler said about 75 years ago

Yep, even in Germany they hate Port and Crow fans

Re: AFL Reserve sides and those extra crowd predictions

Whatever happens re end of the season the SANFL has to force Port to have exactly the same model as the Crows when they do the annual review. 10 team comp with 3 different sets of playing rules could only happen in the circus trading as the SANFL!

Re: The never ending No AFL in the SANFL whinge thread

I would love to go back to the 80s and have 3 state leagues and 40,000 people supporting the local teams but it not going to happen as money control sports these days.

Not having a go at you mate, but I hate it when AFL apologists trot out lines thinking SANFL fans believe the glory days can be re-visited, because it's absolute fuggin BS!

Not one single Sanfl fan is under any illusion as to our place in the pecking order, we just want an equal, non-compromised competition. We're more than happy with crowds of 2.5-3k, offset by a few lower and a few blockbusters.

We'll still continue to make AFL players.

What is unreasonable in wanting to be un-interfered with? AFL supporters, the vast majority of whom have zero knowledge and interest when it comes to the Sanfl, continually cast aspersions that just aren't factual to try and support their attitudes of "no other competition in the country matters, we should use them as we see fit"

Re: 2015 Ashes

Too gutless to make a decision?
So saying "Not Out" isn't a decision ?
So the umps get blasted for being too gutless to give LBW appeals out but when they give them out they get blasted for not giving the batsman the benefit of the doubt such as Wattos in the 1st test when they were both umpires call.
Warne carried on like a dick last night.
Basically saying the umpires should be giving the bowler the benefit of the doubt and its up to the batsman to appeal and conclusively prove them wrong.
So Warne wants to do a 100% about face to a guideline that has served the game well for its entire history?
He was obviously a bowler?
Maybe stick to your Poker Warney.
I believe the review system in regards to the LBW is one of the few things the ICC have got right.
The howler will always be overturned which is what we all want.
The exception being if either team have no referrals left when a howler occurs.
Thats maybe something they could look at. Even agree with Warney on that one in that a team doesnt lose a referral if they are on the wrong end of a "umpires call" decision.

Re: ATCA 2014/15.

The Flinders Uni Cricket Club is looking to rebuild after being relegated from A2 to A3. Several A/B players have retired or moved on, so an opportunity exists for any player or group of mates who think they are capable of playing A3 cricket or starved of A grade opportunities at another club. We have nominated 3 teams this season with our B grade playing LO.1 and C grade playing LO.4, but would like to get back to 2 two-day sides in the future. We have the advantage of both our grounds along side each other along with excellent playing facilities. Please contact President, Robb Muirhead on 0404 026 554 if you are interested.

Re: Preliminary Final - Centrals v West

This makes me sick!! We come from 5th last year and run into Port in a Prelim while Centrals get a normal SANFL side that the Panthers beat by 6 goals a few weeks ago. **** the SANFL

Umm, so the team/club you couldn't beat on Prelim final day last year but they did on 1st Semi Final Day (coming from 5th) this year makes you sick how??

What WCP is posting is that his team South were eliminated by an AFL reserves club last season
The same team South Adelaide voted NO against joining the SANFL

Had Port Reserves beaten Centrals last week , Im sure there would be some Centrals posters feeling like WCP is

Imagine this Ambays
Glenelg have a goods season in 2016
They meet Port Reserves in a Prelim Final, and are eliminated
How would you feel about that ?

He would feel shocked and surprised.

Re: SANFL Player Movements - 2015 / 2016

A couple of ex Double Blues players trying to rejuvenate their SANFL careers at a new club, perhaps?

You wouldn't be talking about one who played at Mount Compass last year and another who played at Torrens Valley in 2015, Phil? Good luck to both of them. One has an X factor about him but consistency, sadly, eluded him at league level and the other, well if our seaside dwellers can get him on the track, good luck to them.

Thank-you....I'm flattered. I really felt for the WWT Training Staff after the match on Saturday. Like at most clubs (and I don't expect the punters to know just what goes in to getting these boys out on the ground each week) mine is a labour of love. Endless amounts of massage, treatment, picking them up when they're down emotionally. I'm just wrapped for our players and my club.
