Re: Essendon 2013

I told you the corrupt fat Greek prick would be caught out eventually.

yep anyone who didnt think there were deals going on behind the scenes were very naive.

The fat greek is just as corrupt as the IOC and FIFA presidents.

Yeah nothing new here. Vlad needs to 'please explain' then resign.

Documents conveniently leaked to the HUN who was the media of choice of the Essendon spin doctors.

All this suggests is that infraction notices must be imminent.

Southern Football League

What is happening at the Snake Pit looks like a quiver leaving the pit?? Or trying to leave the pit what is it with all denies on the clearances. What is the point of denying a neonate a clearance if he doesn’t want to play in the pit?? He may come back in a couple of years if let go with blessings or then again may never come back if held in detention.

Is it a case of where’s Dale? :-?? Missing in action when the big calls are to be made?? Who is at the helm? My sources tell me it is no longer the CFC but the K & K FC?? Seems a lot of unhappy COBRAS? More out than in maybe no money?? Long couple of years for the faithful??

What is your take on it Turbo

Re: Trades/Drafts (Nov & PSD/Rookie) - 2015

Henderson to the Cats for a 2016 1st Rounder.

Cats without first round picks for two years running, they'd wanna hope this top up brings success.
Not happy with that trade, massive overs IMO. Danger was worth it but Henderson is a lazy footballer he better pull his finger out
That first rounder is worth more because 2016 is anticipated to be a super draft that brought the likes of O'Meara, Crouch, Wines etc.

Cats are banking on a top 4 finish and that pick being 15-18.

Will be hoping Geelong lose as many games as possible next year [emoji13]

Re: Trades/Drafts (Nov & PSD/Rookie) - 2015

Richmond to use pick 19 to Carlton for Yarran. Seems a senseless trade for them otherwise.
Carlton saying no to 19

Yarran contracted. Pick 12 or he stays
$300k a year to play VFL and then walk for free next year?
He has already stated he wont play for them

Some would argue he didn't play for us this year

Re: Mr September

SEN were holding some pretty good discussion this morning after one of the Melbourne journos (think it was Jon Ralph) labelled Shaun Burgoyne as "Mr September".

Prompted some pretty entertaining calls, one of which mentioned a Brisbane ruckman you hardly saw from rounds 3-18, yet he'd be there every GF day playing well. Phil Baker from North was another name mentioned.

Crows fans I'd imagine would be quick to chuck Andrew McLeods name up and with good reason.

Any other players that have a habit of finding their best form in September?

I remember Wayne Johnston being pretty handy in the finals

Re: Essendon 2014

Sounds like Gil is of the opinion that Essendon have been punished enough. With the sanctions imposed upon 12 of their current players on top of the $2m fine, extradition from the 2013 finals series and loss of picks in the immediate drafts, I would be surprised if Gil stripped this years picks as well.

That in itself is wrong. Finish last as a result of drug cheating, and pocket pick 1...
Carlton got all their number 1 picks on the back of cheating.
The AFL will not punish us further, at the end of the day we still make them too much money for them to cripple us further. The AFL is all about $$ and they admitted in hindsight the Carlton penalty was too harsh.

I don't agree with Carlton getting their #1 picks on the back of their salary cap indiscretions, but that is a different debate entirely.

I agree with your last point, doesn't make it right in my eyes, but we agree to disagree.

Carlton had their penalty and the result was we finished in the bottom two for a number of years. History will tell you the number 1 pick doesn't mean you'll end up with the best player

Definitely heading in the right direction as a club. Bolton would have to be considered as close to favourite for the coach of the year?

Re: AFL Round 4

[quote="mighty hounds"]

Do Crow fans reckon he's overtaken Modra yet for most exciting Crow?

No.
Agree, I've lived here all my life & Betts isn't at that sustained excitement level yet.
Modra, he was off the charts.

It's not even close really, I love Betts one of the shrewder pick ups the Crows have made love him but Mods was in that Gary Ablett category when the footy was coming down there you got on the edge of your seat because you knew he was a chance to take mark of the year or kick goal of the year.

Knew how to find the goals...and as good as betts is, is better.

Southern Football League

TURBO
I reckon it's a case of let it go.
The Cove Football Club is behind JC and what he and the coaching panel are trying to do at the club. Many new players take time to gel. Big win against last years premiers and a disappointing result in the end against a well drilled team. The club is focussed on this weeks match ups. Everything else from people away from the club is white noise

Do tell how the committee behind the Coach is going now?? No doubt the 'Fat Controller' football director/VP will support the coach as he thinks for him.

Pity you miss the point about club stalwarts and finance people leaving because of the atrocious treatment..

Thanks for your concern. Organise a meeting with the hierarchy and speak about it in person. If not once again refer to the first sentence in my original post.

Re: AFL Round 15 - The band is back together

Kade Simpson plays his 300th game this weekend. I didn't believe it when I heard about it so I looked into it.

2003
First game :
0 disposals
2 tackles
1 free against

Second game :
COMPLETE DOUGHNUTS!

Third game :
0 disposal
1 tackle

He had no touches and 3 tackles in his first 3 games! Didn't get better right away :
2004
Fourth game :
9 disposal
1 goal
1 hit out (?)
3 tackles
2 I50
Big day out!

Fifth game :
1 disposal
1 tackle

Sixth game :
2 disposals

2005
Seventh game :
2 disposals

Congratulations must got to Carlton to sticking with him.....really, it must.

Absolute champion of the game. Massively underrated. Well done Simmo on the 300th

Re: Trade + Draft Period 2018

Carlton send pick 26 and 28 to Sydney.

Sydney give Carlton pick 13.

Carlton give Adelaide pick 13 and Shane McAdam.

Adelaide give Carlton McGovern.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The fact Carlton have given Adelaide McAdam and Geelong Kreuger before the draft makes an absolute joke of the priority access they were given.

Crows have done well there, Carlton are getting desperate IMO

This is what happens when you re consistently down the bottom.

McGovern will be coming off two injury interrupted seasons and will need a good preseason to play out a full minor round.

Curnow, McKay and McGovern in the forward line!!

Re: Trade + Draft Period 2018

So Brisbane have given us 5 and Mayes for pick 6?

They get 35 as well (Hawks pick i am guessing?). So they have given us an upgrade to 5 & Mayes for 35 + whatever other picks are involved at the lower end of the scale. Not sure they allowed us to upgrade to 5

Yep,

Brisbane :
In - pick 6, 35 and future 3rd rounder
Out - pick 5 and Mayes to Port

Hawthorn :
In - Wingard
Out - pick 15 and Burton ( Port ) pick 35 future 3rd rounder ( Brisbane )

Port :
Out - pick 6 ( Brisbane ) Wingard ( Hawthorn )
In - pick 5 and Mayes ( Brisbane ) pick 15 and Burton ( Hawthorn )

Port wins this big time
