Good post, totally agree, annoys me aswell. I don't have a problem with my club resting it's players for SANFL purposes, but they should have just passed on playing in the comp if that's their priorities instead of dragging down national perception of our comp.

the fact that we dont put our best sides on the park in this competition is just as much a farce as the reserves teams being in the SANFL

Why are Norwood resting so many anyway when their next match is nearly 2 weeks away? :-??

There is a fair few who need freshening up and are carrying slight injuries or knocks.
Also the fringe players were rested because the ressies are playing Saturday so the club decided to send over some U18's.
Also dont want to risk injury in a fairly meaningless comp id imagine

I spoke to Ben Warren pre Norwood v Eagles game and he mentioned to me then they were taking a pretty inexperienced side over, mainly due to number of 'senior' players that were unavailable due to work commitments.

That night I spoke to Ben at half time of the Reserves game, in which the Legs' seconds side had lost 2 players to injuries, from which Dugga commented on the fact it would mean another 2 under 18's lads were going to get the call up...

Not too bad in the second half, but East Perth missed quite few opportunities.
Still not a great look for the club or the comp.

Would prefer to see a mini-comp post season (like there used to be), but can't see it happening.
