Was spewing when Norwood beat Sturt in the Qualifying Final, we could have beaten Norwood but we were never going to beat Sturt.

Same as we were never going to beat West, or Sturt again

North have played South in at least 5 finals in my lifetime.

1966 First Semi Final
1983 Elimination Final
1990 First Semi Final
1991 Second Semi Final
2006 First Semi Final

North have won all 5.

Given that South never made the finals between 1945 and 1963 and North missed finals in 1964 and 1965, they would be the only final they have played since the Second World War.

As far as I can ascertain North and South played in another four finals :

1936 First Semi Final
1903 First Semi Final
1902 Grand Final
1900 Grand Final

South's only win has been the 1903 First Semi Final, so as far as I can ascertain it is North 8 wins to South 1 win in finals against each other.

North had a similar winning record against Norwood in finals for a long time. I think at one stage from about 1933 until 1990 it was 10 nil North's way, but Norwood have certainly won the last few finals against North.

A much more interesting last round of the ressies this coming weekend with only 2 points separating the top 4.
North are currently fourth but will finish in the top 3 as they have the hapless Powers reserves reserves and West have the bye.

We would have beaten your lot mate but Sturt and West were both better than us.

I said could not would. Both teams beat the other convincingly at home during the year, would have been an interesting match at a neutral and large venue but pointless at the same time as agreed West and Sturt were so much better.
When North beat Norwood at Prospect that year the week after John Phillips died it was my first ever home match barracking for the chooks, I was at the Bay the week before for my first one though, was a great couple of weeks for my "debut" with 2 good wins.

I'm a bit torn for the Elim Final.
My daughters still a physio for South and is at every game from before the ressies game until well after the league game.
My lads still North but hasn't been to a game this year and I've only been to three.
It'll mean much more to my girl if South get up.

Wedgie,
I bet your Roosters reserves are thrilled to bits having to play the
Power reserves reserves again next weekend,
the power reserves reserves only managed 2 scoring shots last time!
and that was on 11/8.
Masterly programming by the SANFL!

Hopefully we kick straighter this time. 17.24 to 1.1 was a disgraceful effort.

The reserves comp is fantastic in the final round. Apart from the fact that 3 teams have a shake at finishing 5th, if Norwood were to lose to South (it'd be an upset, but not a huge one seeing that South are fighting for a chance at 5th) then it's on like Donkey Kong for the minor premiership.

On that scenario: North jump from 4th to 1st automatically if Sturt (6th, and fighting for their shot at finals) roll Glenelg (3rd). But if Glenelg win, then North can go top on percentage if they beat Port by about 170 points more than Glenelg's margin over Sturt.

Don't laugh. If you've got a motivated team wanting to push to the final siren against a comp laughing stock, and Glenelg only just get over Sturt, it could happen. Maybe.

Norwood 1.90
Sturt 3.20
Eagles 7.00
South Adelaide 8.50
North Adelaide 17.00
Glenelg 81.00
Central District 101
Port Adelaide 101
West Adelaide 101
Adelaide 501

Definitely a possibility. History shows that winning streaks are hard to maintain
