Ainger was able to walk off with assistance but went straight into the rooms and came back onto the ground later in the match with his arm in a sling. Presumably a dislocated shoulder or AC Joint so would expect him to miss at least 5 weeks.
As discussed, when play resumed, the centrals player kicked it to another and Grocke arrived 1 second too late with his arms out to spoil but was late and collected the player in the head with his body/arm. Its the sort of thing that happens frequently in a marking contest but the fact Grocke caused injury to hte player he will be suspended. Clumsy and late, if it was any other player he deserves 1-2 games. Given it was Grocke who presumably has points on his record, given the fact the player was stretchered and given the fact the umpires will probably over-react and view it as 'pay-back' rather than an isolate hte incident, I expect him to cop 4-5 matches.
Anyway the game was tough and hard and both teams struggled kicking against the swirling breeze to the Southern end. Thought Powell was exceptional, Bornholm did a good job, Von Bertouch was outstanding, Boyd was useful but wasn't so damaging.. Of course teh biggest surprise packet was Lachlan McGregor who bobbed up in the foward pocket with 6 or 7 goals. His run down holding the ball in the second quarter was a highlight.
Centals seemed to have a vastly different team to differnet years so wasn't sure of many of their players. However Williams seemed to get a lot of the ball, and that big forward with the sleeve tatt (Retzlaff?) looks a likely type though needs to work on his kicking. Didn't think McIntyre did a hell of a lot.

Given the special treatment the Eagles seem to receive from the umpires year after year they'll probably help get him off.

Disagree with this. I'd love to know stats for reports and matches received at the tribunal for all the clubs but I reckon Eagles would top the list.
Crowd estimate around 2,000 which isn't great for R1 on a sunny day but not surprising given they went head to head with the Crows.

I fear he's the little fella who played at the bays and more recently Langhorne creek. If so another big miss by the bays.
