South certainly jumped out of the blocks well and the tackling pressure was very good, setting up a few of the first quarter goals. Perhaps could have lead by more at 1/2 time, with the Power coming out after the break and playing some of their best footy for the day. South managed to steady in the second half of the third and despite a 6 goal lead at 3/4 time couldn't put the visitors away. The final term was rather awful to watch, but will take the points.

390 possies today to 302, rare to see a figure that high. The usual suspects LIddle, Cross and Mcleod got plenty of it, while Rose was excellent also, regularly putting his body on the line. C. Daniel all class in tight, while Murphy did well on Sommerton.

The Power were a shadow of the team that we faced at Alberton earlier in the season, further emphasising the fact that it's a bit of lottery when you come up against the two AFL teams. It was our turn to get 'lucky' today I spose, having faced a very high contingent of AFL players in the 3 other games against the interlopers. So whilst it was an important win in the context of the season, the usual buzz of knocking off Port, or a top of the ladder team, wasn't there (for me anyway).

Perfect weather for footy and the jumpers looked great.

Guernsey 64 was auctioned off at todays Presidents Lunch.

It was signed by players of that fabulous Grand Final win that attended today, 15 in all.

Raised $1175.00

Knocking OFF SPAM or Port Magpies will always be a highlight in any season for me and many other Southies more so on our own deck.

The history books in years to come will show we won.

We are an improving team in an improving competition and will still encounter up's and down's

McLeod and C Daniels stood out today to ensure we had a victory and bring home the bickies.

personally... I loved the guernsey...particularly with the insignia far more prominent, rather than an afterthought.

My brother and I share camera duties, half a quarter each. He has a pass from the club to get on the oval when needed and his photos get used by the club for various things, the magpie season ticket this year is his photo, plus I've had my photos used on match day reports on the club website.

The SANFL hopes for this every year, what's different now?
