Does next weekend mark the final day that the prison bar guernsey graces the SANFL reserves comp? They’ve played all year like a team on their way out. I said a few years back when the grand plan (including the pretentiously-named ‘Academy Team’) was unveiled, that once you turn off the U18s tap, it’s a one-way ticket to an uncompetitive reserves team.

Would the ammos (and the Pahhr’s AFL overlords) approve of an arrangement whereby an ammos team give their surplus SANFL league-contracted players a runaround, when the injury levels on the AFL list don’t demand that they all play? What other plan is there?

That they piss off with the crows to an AFL reserves competition. Leaving 8 team S.A.N.F.L. League and Reserves.

There won't be an AFL reserves competition.

I recall when the changes took place that the Magpies reserves were given a timeline to be out of the competition, I can't find any reference anywhere as I was of the understanding next year was to be the last year of Port Adelaide having a team in the SANFL reserves competition.

Caught the last bit of the reserves, was that Ben Nason running around in the Doggies two's?

Yep. Only Doggies player to not get over 10 touches.; don't think he played the 2nd half though. Or he did and got nowhere near it.

He went off near 1/2 time not sure if injured or sent off.

It is his 3rd stint at the club. He came to Centrals from PA juniors in 2009 and was drafted by Richmond in 2010 and delisted in 2011. He returned to Central in 2012 for 2 seasons and then transferred to Glenelg for 3 seasons before returning to Central last year.

Useless BUT intriguing information, Ben has worn at least 4 different numbers at Central not including blood rule jumper numbers.

I only saw him in a jacket when he came off the bench as the final siren went, didn't actually see him running, just assumed he played though.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think he also spent some time playing Ammo's maybe Salisbury North a year or two ago too.

Well done on a good career to Steve Summerton but has anyone ever played 200+ games for the Maggie’s and not won a premiership?

Got there last year if IIRC
Or do you mean 150 for Magpies and 50 for Power reserves ;)

Bob Clayton must've played close to 200.

151 games.

I can’t think of any who played that many(200+) at Port without the ultimate success.

Yes you're right. I forgot about that.
That would be the year between leaving Glenelg and coming back to Centrals. Good old Ben must have more guernseys than Eugene Warrior.

I'd like to think and Summo probably would too that he played 200 games for the Port Adelaide Football Club just as Gavin Wanganeen did

How many games has Harry Dear played for the Crows? If you can answer that i think you can answer how many games Summerton has played for Port Adelaide. HInt, its the same amount.
