Hearing Wright has told Abe Davis he is not getting a contract for season 2020 with South and not to bother showing up at the Magery tonight as he is not welcome.

If so big shoes to fill next season

Why would that be? I think he goes ok.

Was he invited ?

If true it has nothing to do with his Footy ability.Very good player.

Interesting (and hugely disappointing) if true. Will finish top 3 in the B+F, had a very good season (as was 2018). Although I recall this poster and Wright have history, so I wouldn't jump to too many conclusions.

So Lonergan has given us about the same heads up time as Goddern. **** the AFL

To get that job he must have been putting out the feelers for quite some time?
Doesn’t that line up nicely with a piss poor season.
We’ve never seen the players inconsistent like this season.
Good players playing stupidly at times for no apparent reason or is the reason now
doing a runner

Pretty sure Godden wasn't going to be going on anyway.

Godden had this 2019 season to go , his tenth and would have had him pass Sir Ron :D
This happened in 2000 with Hamilton, one and done, but that group of players were putty in his
hands and played their guts out for him!
If Richmond are indeed going to help find the next one we may be half a chance, maybe throw in
a key forward that Powell forgot to bring in

As long as "key forward" is not a broken down AFL hack

A very good footballer but the NDP rules.

He knew the minute the siren sounded in the last game he was gone.

There is no doubt that Abe can play the game but simply wants everything on his own terms. Disruptive influence on others that has hurt the club brand. So congrats to Jarrad for cleaning house. South Adelaide has been starved of success for too long but this removal demonstrates the integrity of the club and its management The club is bigger than the individual and this proves it.

Wouldn't surprise me if the Bays are eyeing him off as the Partington replacement (which most expect will be required). Sturt keen too I believe.

Yes there certainly is a NDP policy in vogue at South. We got rid of another one this time last year too.
Abe was a very good player ,but had issues on the ground and certainly off it, but on his day...a matchwinner.
