What I find amusing is that last year some of the AFL listed players were referred to as Hacks that were barely up to SANFL reserves standard, but this year they are all full time professionals. Perhaps the Hacks were delisted in the off season?

I know this probably doesn`t count, but the only one I could come up with is the International games between Ireland and Australia ( GAELIC FOOTBALL)

Every other state league in Australia?

Yep, good example of the damage it does.

A question: If a player such as Lewis Johnston or Cameron Hitchcock is delisted, would their original club eg. North or Glenelg have to pay a transfer fee to get them back?. My gut feel is that Port in particular will keep these blokes on as "top up" players

And pay them $400 a game? Or just make them a mature age player in 2025?

I'm fully expecting to see Hitchcock, Logan etc playing as "$400" players next year.

Hopefully there are changes at seasons end that will prevent this scenerio happening

Although it hurts seeing sides belted by the AFL teams it may turn out to be a blessing in disguise.
I think if it continues down this path the SANFL clubs will be forced to rethink their decision and probably change the rules significantly for next season.
Would love to see them booted out but im a realist and I think we are stuck with them now but some major rule changes are needed

Yep while I don't think the SANFL will 'kick' the reserves sides out the only possibility that it could happen is because
-real large drop of in overall crowds by seasons end
Or
-complete difference in class and the 2 AFL sides dominate

Simply have the power and crows games not count towards the true premiership. The overall results for these games could be toward $100k prize money. And real sanfl teams can't drop more than 5 players from the week before. This achieves the objectives of all. Simply have two ladders.

I don't think we're stuck with them. The AFL sides are in the SANFL only as a matter of caprice. Should the AFL clubs change their mind in a few years time (for whatever reason) they'll simply pull up stumps and leave. The 15 year agreement ain't worth squat.
