The farce continues

Impey and A Young may or may not be available to play in the Norwood v Port Reserves Grand Final this week

As I understand it
If Impey and A Young are not selected in the AFL prelim Final
Then :
If Port Power beat Hawthorn both can play in a SANFL Grand Final
If Port Power loses to Hawthorn both can not play in the SANFL Grand Final

I know there are rules in place but
How the f..k can they prepare themselves this week
Both may not play any football this weekend
And if they both don't play at all this weekend it is a disgrace
As far as Im concerned the players MUST come first in these issues

Power and Reserves are both playing on the same weekend within a day of each other
Common sense decrees that whoever misses out on the AFL list should be allowed to play for the SANFL list
That means that the SANFL team can not be stacked
If it was a weekend apart , I can understand to a degree

Given the circumstances both should be allowed to play no matter what
Its what these guys are geared up for Finals and Grand Finals success

Forget about no AFL in the SANFL
These Port players must be taken care of
The farce continues

That would have happened in previous years would it not?

Given the SANFL Grand Final was the weekend after the AFL GF it was well and truly known by selection who was and wasn't available. Same issues may have occurred in earlier finals.

Fair enough.

I don't think this is a "farce" or anything though, just issues that need to be resolved.

How do you think they should be resolved, Benny?

Is that based on anything official from SANFL?

I thought it was a week by week approval rather than day by day. I'd expect Power reserves to still be able to pick any player Sunday that didn't play Saturday.

So, with the chief reason why this thread exists (along with everything else we have seen over the past year) sacked from his position, can we call the Crows Reserves experiment a success?

Sanderson was a significant advocate of the reserves idiocy, unlike previous Afc coaches. Now we also have a new SANFL gm from a real club. Time to unwind the damage and write off this year.
On a side note looks like the crows have done a port and sacked a coach mid contract, now requiring a massive payout. These clubs have money to burn, what a waste of money that could have gone to football.

To think Sanderson's sacking will have any impact on the Crows participation in the SANFL is laughable. Of course he was an advocate for it; but do you really think whoever is the next Crows coach is going to say, let's unwind that and go back to having our players scattered throughout the SANFL competition? Of course not! Will make no difference at all.

But if he maybe kept his trap shut and left it as it was he could still be in a job........

Has the SANFL hit all new lows.

We now have clubs losing players to rival clubs in the same competition thanks to a 'reality' tv show.

I cant think of how this comp could be compromised any more.

Yep half a season we didnt blood another youngster who may still be at club in 5 years.

Also manpower and time to recruit him, who knows what recruits we didnt chase or spend cash on because we got him instead.

Many other factors than just games played, I would think even you would understand that.

Nevermind no matter how many games he played we lost a young promising player to a RIVAL club thanks to a tv show and nothing we could do about it

They knew he was a possibility to get on an afl list. Does that mean they didn't do the due diligence? Should they never recruit someone that has a chance at afl?

You guys honestly need your heads read.
