Kane Cornes on 5AA tonight said if Port Magpies played Glenelg in a Grand Final, he would support Glenelg, while happy with his answer he didn't seem to grasp the concept that he could be playing for the Magpies in this game....strange days this "new era"

Anyone notice the power have an Anzac Day night game at Adelaide Oval this year, guessing the SANFL Anzac Day game wont be played there now.

Then it will be played The Parade. Norwood v Port ANZAC Day clash should get a good crowd there too.

If Port had won the SANFL premiership you could be right....

But

It is Norwood's home game, can't see them giving up the money to be made from the Parade to be the pre-game entertainment for the Power faithfull.

Makes sense to play that game @ Norwood Oval.
Could time it right, so the Power Fans can go to both.

It should be easy for the SANFL to do this. A 2:30pm game at The Parade, finishes around 5, leaves plenty of time for the Port supporters to get to AO. If they do schedule the game at The Parade, Port would be wise to put on a few buses to transport their supporters to the city.

Anzac Day league games begin at 3pm normally....

Why should we cater for them?
We are the Premiers, should be looking after our fans first and foremost

Given Anzac Day is on Saturday in 2015 there will be footy on all around the state impacting on attendance at the SANFL game. Buglers will be in high demand!

Very true. Norwood should ask for a Friday night game to get the biggest crowd there.

So you'd rather have say 6k at a 3pm game at your club's home ground than say 10k at a 2pm game for the sake of looking after your own? I hope you're not on the NFC board.

Yep, sick of being dictated to by the AFL and the two Reserve sides. Its bad enough our season was shortened and the GF moved dates. Its about time the SANFL stopped bowing down to them and make their own decisions. Play the game at the regular timeslot. As for the crowd, It wouldnt bother me if Crows or Port fans never attended SANFL games, personally I dont want them there

Agreed. Clubs need to ensure they get the biggest crowds possible at their home games. If that means starting the game ealier to allow Port supporters enough time to get to AO then so be it. More people through the Parade gates, more money goes to the footy club. Makes sense to me.

But realistically - How many Port supporters would attend both games? Consider the cost and the fact it will be a very long day, and it would surely put off anyone with kids to start with.

There will be supporters who wont go to the SANFL game, but its better to try and maximise the attendance isnt it. I think Friday night is the better option for the GF replay.

Why at the Parade? Why not play it at Alberton?

Norwood will obviously get a kick back from this, bar and food or gate takings, otherwise Norwood wouldve said no.
