Giggle.

Interesting watching others defending themselves. Hope they have the same opinions as they did previously about cheating the salary cap.

Better than being the Alf Garnett of the SANFL I guess.

Apparently it was Joel Tippett's contract that took Westies over the limit.
Apparently Villis had a sponsorship.

Ssssh don't spoil the fun

Took two teams cheating to end the dynasty ;)

North actually ended the dynasty in the first semi

Westies don't have a paper bag sponser like the doggies do ;)

The Eagles ended the dynasty in the 2011 GF WIN love it

Aren't injury payments included in the cap as with the SANFL insurance payments players get full payment for a period of games (four I think) then it starts sliding down depending on the length of time the player is out?

Basically if you have no injuries you aren't paying (or part paying) for blokes to be on the sidelines.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

True, but they could lose their home and be named and shamed!

At least the massive exodus of players from Elizabeth Oval means you won't have to face this rumour for a year or so.

The salary cap is imposed upon the SANFL by the AFL in a master/slave relationship. Accordingly I do not recognise it and encourage EVERY club to break it. We all know EVERY club breaks it to varying degrees and this is how it should be.

Agree, another reason to get rid of the AFL licenses then we can scrap the salary cap

I'm confident Nathan Bassett would take a recruiting restriction for next season in a sporting manner if implied. As opposed to reacting like a petulant child as other lesser coaches have in the past. ;)

And the Crows have been picking up the tab on this bloke for a year or so; West probably have been paying him in bingo tickets ( already opened ofcourse :) ) which count very little against the cap!

There's a new Sheriff in town boys, LOOKOUT ;)

Would think most clubs are over the cap if the league was to do a little digging.
There would be plenty of players who have "jobs" with club sponsors or board members that are receiving top ups.
Know of several players from differant clubs who get paid in cash off the books working for club sponsors.
I dont blame the clubs, the Cap is a farce the players would be paid a pittance if the cap was adhered to, especially when you consider how many hours per week these guys give up to play. And people wonder why players choose to play ammos or country footy where there is decent money to be made

Penalties are written into the regs..... For breach of less than $10k the fine is dollar for dollar. $10k to $50k the fine is $50k and no recruiting for a year.
