Obviously stating he didn't need to be told that because he's at Norwood ******* Oval.

I took it as, "yeah, mate, I'm on an AFL list and you're not, you ***kwit". I don't think I was alone.
But you, being the expert on all things Port, are probably correct. ;)

I'm not sure if you're serious or not. He's clearly been heckled about being an AFL player and responded by saying he's clearly not.
Heckler wasn't a coach but Nathan Bassett indicated it was 'someone who used to wear yellow'.

I think he was stating he was aware he wasn't playing AFL on the day. As for the clipboard warrior, I don't know how intelligent he is, he might not have been aware.

Even the slightest of slight. Let it go, mate, let it go.

You tell me, what was Mitchell supposed to do?

Could be worse - he could be Eddie McGuire defending deliberate knees to the head.

A good sledge back would've been to turn it back on the guy.

"Mate, what have you done?"
"Gee, fella, you must have had a good career..."

or

"You're just jealous of my hair, mate."

I loved the fact he sledged back, but gee it could've been so much better.
Instead he looked like a knob and, seemingly, without realising it, told us he'd been dropped to the reserves.

Take it to the AFL thread, pal.

Sorry, I think it's just that it's Mitchell. ;)

The verbal attacks on mitchell and butcher go a bit over the top, they areyoung men just trying to have a kick of footy and cop far to much abuse from supporters at this level. All day its relentless. I reckon they do a good job of ignoring the tirade (most of the time).
Anyone would think the other sanfl clubs have never played a borderline afl player before and its a crime.
(Opinions may vary)

They have, and they copped it from supporters as well.

AG, do you think the verbals are more virulent than they were in the past?

Perhaps the Norwood officials sledge should be taken to the same place ?

As I've said to a few Norwood mates, I reckon some people are making too big a deal out of it. The official and Mitchell, like the other players apparently showed a bit of passion, and in the process gained some publicity for the competition. Both things we should be happy about when it concerns our comp. Massive storm in a teacup.

What's he got to do with Collingwood and Port?

Agreed. I think Mitchell did well to ensure what went to air wasn't unfit to go to air. Then it would have been an issue.

Agreed. But, surely, no-one's actually upset about this? Surely, it's just a talking point?
And, I'm not calling you Shirley.

I certainly do. I know what I've been on the end of* is certainly more than I've experienced in the past. "Meet you in the car park" type stuff.

It's also interesting to note when I inform people I didn't make the current changes they continue with the vitriol. One punter at Broadrectum Oval was most entertaining.

That's their first mistake, thinking you drove to the footy ;)

The verbals are getting far worse, supporters have had a gutfull of these frauds running around in the comp and the players are copping the brunt of it.
Definately a lot more hatred at games involving the two AFL sides

You're telling me, you've been going to Port games all of your life and you've rarely head "see you in the car park?"
I reckon, when we had 'proper' crowds, I heard that almost every week.
