In all seriousness. They were bullied today. If hats the depth for the power I’d be very concerned as a port fan. They were soft.

What about a bit of respect to the SANFL clubs for being formidable opposition. Look around the country's state leagues and see the domination of AFL listed reserves sides there. If I was a player of these clubs I would be sickened by the disregard some of you blokes give them. Believe!

AFL have formally requested to SANFL to align all rules with them due to the mid season draft and it given those players a better opportunity. Also to assist with players who float between the two leagues.

We know the SANFL will bend over

To assist players who float between leagues?

How bloody hard is it? Don't kick the red leathery oval thing out of bounds!

I believe one Steve Summerton expressed similar sentiments.

Congratulations Glenelg on a terrific season (despite not being able to beat South!) and a well deserved, drought breaking premiership.
Speaking of droughts, ours REALLY stands out now (as if it didn’t before!).
Well done Tigers!

Too much to ask that Glenelg could've won by less than a goal for a bit of extra agony for the PPBGers?

I'm not angry, just disappointed

Congratulations to the Bays, great to see them claim the ultimate prize after so long. It’s also a relief to see a Glenelg flag that wasn’t at the expense of North Adelaide!

Good on Michael Virgin too, who was on the footy scrapheap and played a great tough game, did the little things and finally nabbed a flag, a player who while at North I didn’t think was up to regular league footy. By contrast, some Port players looked like they phoned in their efforts. Yesterday proved the adage that champion teams beat teams of champions.

May all the Glenelg lads on this forum enjoy the victory.

It's the default position for them mate. They argue we are/aren't the PAFC when they choose ( noting we're a new club but we've lost our last 6 GF's at Adelaide Oval - yes, chuckle with me ) instead of highlighting how good the Bays have been all year and how good they were yesterday.

I made sure I found Spargo and wanted to bump into you, as it turns out that exactly what happened. I would have liked to have seen @Pseudo but given he doesn't attend Port games I figured I wouldn't see him.

If you think players cross the line to play and don't care about winning you know less about the game and it's participants than I give you credit for.

Koch was indeed at Alberton last night, had a chat with him, hell of a nice bloke.

They definitely tried and care about winning but I thought there was a few really half arsed efforts and they weren’t as hungry as the Bays. Marshall especially was scared of contact and Frampton looked disinterested at times.
Port didn’t cope with the physicality at all well

Certainly didn't have the same level of urgency about them in the first 30 minutes as the Bays did. But how many GF's can that be said about? One team is "on" and the other isn't, that's what happens, to say it's because they don't care about winning should be dismissed as nothing more than bullshit.

It's a funny one, the SANFL umpiring is far more liberal than how the game is adjudicated at AFL level, particularly holding the ball, the SANFL almost dismisses prior opportunity at times ( or that's just the shit umpires that are out there ) yet they changed to the most definitive of rules, last touch out of bounds, goes against almost every other interpretation they use at SANFL level.
