Which coach or coaches are likely to be under the pump to hold their positions for 2023 ?

I would say possibly Lokan but thats it.

AC are currently sitting in top spot.
Is there a restriction in how many AFL listed players can play in the SANFL finals ?

Yes there is. I believe the cap is 17 in any one game but that number may have changed.

Looking at the fixture for the remainder of the season I'm thinking there is a chance that North can still miss the finals if the Eagles and Norwood make up the percentage gap. Adelaide, Glenelg and Sturt look like they will finish on more points than them.

Yep.
Must play more SANFL than AFL after 30th June and at least 3 games.
Top-ups only need one game.

I think Wright might be included in the 17 as well??

There's also a chance that I could root Jennifer Aniston

North are playing finals.

Yes, this is correct. It's looking likely there will be 14 AFL listed players that qualify (plus Wright). There could be as much as 16 plus Wright. Crouch and Sholl, who played SANFL last weekend, won't qualify as they've played too many AFL games this year.

Crows listed AFL players that have already qualified are:

Borlase
McAsey
Nankervis
Newchurch
Strachan
Taylor
Worrell

Plus Wright

Those that will qualify if they play 1 or 2 more SANFL games:

Davis
Pedlar

Those that will probably qualify, provided they play more SANFL games than AFL:

Frampton (6 AFL / 8 SANFL and qualified)
Cook (7 AFL / 8 SANFL and qualified)
Himmelberg (9 AFL / 7 SANFL and qualified)
Turner (0 AFL / 3 SANFL and qualified)
Gollant (7 AFL / 7 SANFL / 2 SANFL after July)

Those unlikely to qualify but still could:

Parnell (6 AFL / 8 SANFL but 0 SANFL since July)
Milera (8 AFL / 7 SANFL but 0 since July)

Ruled Out Injured:

McPherson

Thanks Aerie, saved me a job!

Also have the bizarre situation where Turner could play for Glenelg or the Crows in the finals or could be excluded from playing from both!

Currently 21 players qualified. Davis to qualify if he plays SANFL this week. Crouch will have to play the remaing matches in SANFL to qualify. Himmelberg needs 4 more SANFl games to qualify. Milera and Murray would need to play 3 more games in SANFL. I am assuming all of Pedlar, Davis, Frampton and Gollant will qualify. Maybe Cook

Possible Team 15 AND 7 Spread of AFL to top ups.

F HIMMELBERG MCASEY PEDLAR
HF WRIGHT GOLLANT NANKERVIS
C COOK TAYLOR NEWCHURCH
HB DAVIS WORRELL MCPHERSON
B SHARRAD BORLASE FRAMPTON
R STRACHAN BOYLE TURNER
I SMITHSON HALL CLAMP TEMPLETON

TURNER 3 3

Salary cap to raise 50k next season and with other incentives clubs will be able to spend up to $305,00 at league level.
Was previously $210k after the pandemic hit and $400k prior to that.

A pretty formidable side; no room for Isaya McKenzie?

Not sure whether that will make a significant difference. A lot of sides find employment for their players as their main source of income rather than worry about paying them through the salary cap.

Good question.

I thought the AFL reserves teams were meant to mean no byes.

Part of the EBA or whatever you want to call it between the league and players.
Have to have a set amount of weeks off per season

Last year BSR product lochy Wilsdon kicked 8 goals in a league game for the roosters against the dogs.

This year BSR junior Patty Weckert kicks 8 reserves goals for the Eagles against North. Not a bad effort for a 17 year old.
