Given that the ABC are still televising second tier sports in other states are you assuming they'd have stuck their hand out for more to televise this year?
Unless you've seen the invoices I'm also not sure how you could possibly know that they've raised the $1M this year through 'sponsorship'.
There was an article a while back saying the coverage cost the SANFL a little bit more out of pocket than it did with the ABC, but they hoped to have it cost neutral in a couple of years.
Cos Cardone is CEO of McGuire Media and also a Port Board Director. Not sure if a conflict of interest?
Haven't heard much in the media lately, but they seemed happy with the number of viewers - especially the Port vs Norwood R1 game and the "SANFL Showdown".
