Regretfully we wish to confirm that James Allan has decided to continue his SANFL career at another club. We had offered terms to James several weeks ago at his request, pending us fulfilling some recruiting needs. Our original offer has remained firm, but unfortunately we cannot meet the additional remuneration requirements now requested by James due to salary cap reasons.

Be assured we have worked hard to try and bring James back to the Roosters and thought we had done that until last week.

We wish James every success at his new club, and whilst this is disappointing, he will always remain a champion Rooster and club favourite.

What a disappointing situation. One does wonder how the Bays are going to stay under the salary cap given their recruits and the amount of money that Jimmy was allegedly asking for from North. Surely something could have been worked out between North and JImmy.

Shocking comments from the NAFC. Shows a real lack of respect for Allan, a bloke who gave them pretty good service in his previous time in the SANFL. Despite the stories of him bieng "signed" clearly he never was and nowhere does it even suggest he agreed to those terms (which appear at best tentative). Why are clubs now feeling the need to make bitchy comments about blokes who don't sign with them? How about sucking it up and leaving the press releases to the club he's actually signed for?

Should change it to "triple magarey medalist whoring himself around to highest bidder"

Neither of those clubs have had salary cap issues...

It looks like some club is going to have a triple magarey medalist with them, weve been there and done that twice so thought it best to share. ;)

Not entirely sure that these comments are disrespectful but James did say in a interview that when he comes back he will only play for North so something/someone has changed his way of thinking. That could be the new coach or the offer was indeed not up to expectation. Always sad when this type of situation occurs but all I can say is that James Allan will ALWAYS be a triple medallist at North and I wish him all the best at his new club (whoever that is)

Quite sad state of affairs.
Jimmy Allan is a North Adelaide player and always will be. Hope sanity prevails and he can finish his career at Prospect.
Surely we can not be talking mega bucks in what has been offered ?????

The Roosters released a statement saying he will not be finishing at North...

May end up playing for your team, SDK...

It's a reality that the dollar speaks and loyalty isn't what it used to be...

$2.5k per match I've heard is the asking price.
I did have a chuckle when a couple of norwood posters earlier were questioning how we could fit him in our salary cap (if we choose to).

Simple, negotiate terms with the crows.

Id be amazed if we were interested in him.
Think our midfield isnt too bad and I personally dont want him at the club

Dumont, Grigg, Thomas, Suckling, Campbell, Pfeiffer, Aish, Zorsi is a lot of onballers to replace mate, would suggest our full recruiting focus from here would be on midfielders

I have faith we can cover most of those with what we already have but a couple of mids would be nice, just dont think Jimmy would be a good fit at the club especially at the reported price

Should be a clear run for the Eagles to snap Jimmy up ... they're experts in picking up mercenaries.

Hate to say it but well done to North for standing up to what allegedly were some ridiculous demands.

Agree, good on North for standing firm, they are better off without him.
Would be hilarious if no one picked him up, Eagles surely couldnt get him, Ainger and Wundke would be using half of their cap alone

Well if the rumoured demands are anywhere near the mark he won't be playing in the SANFL.
