A crowd 6% of membership at any other SANFL game would equate to a crowd of around 300-400.
Absolutely pathetic crowd numbers.
We wont have to hold our breath to long before crowds of that nature become common in the SANFL

So how many people show up to sanfl reserves? I'm sure it isn't more than 300-400

The issue is that there is no benefit to the 8 SANFL clubs if these showdowns get big crowds and other games are reducing.

You're spot on Benny, absolutely laughable! Many on here were waiting for this game to flop, and now that it hasn't they're thrashing around for an argument! 6k at an SANFL game, by any measure, is a good crowd.

@Smac with respect, your argument isn't really relevant. Why would your club celebrate the crowd between Port and the Crows any more than, say, Glenelg would've celebrated the Anzac Day crowd between Norwood and North?

Why bother even commenting on a match played between two AFL teams?

That the SANFL and a few blowhards will point to it as some kind of tick of approval is just laughable.

How many SANFL reserve teams are breaking the salary cap by 300%?
Stupid argument.

What really is laughable (but also a little sad ) that you and "bennymacca" still don't get it. For all the hype"mini showdown" etc, no AFL game here this weekend, perfect weather ONLY 6,000 turned up , out of over 100,000 members and god knows how many "so called" supporters that is pathetic.

You do realise that some AFL club "supporters" don/t even know that their players from Number 23 onwards are actually playing under a different system now, that's how interested they are .

It is also disappointing that perfect opportunities for crowd drawing rounds like the last two weekends where the Crows only play late interstate on a Sunday afternoon and not at all on the other are not jammed full of enticing SANFL games.

Instead they give this game every opportunity to be a success. To prove a point I guess.

The SANFL spend all this money on Ch 7, they spend all this money on putting ads on the back of buses yet they waste opportunities to put their comp up on a pedestal. I guess fixturing what was a success (the Oct GF) to AFL Prelim Final weekend illustrated the need to satisfy AFL team needs over the good of the SANFL competition.

If ever anyone was in doubt about the priorities of Whicker, Davies etc., this should put pay to that doubt.

If the SANFL was serious about helping its 8 proper SANFL clubs all the SANFL teams would have had a game on either Friday night or Saturday this weekend when there was No AFL in SA

Another huge error by the SANFL where they are using fixtures and scheduling to make sure they get the desired statistics they require to keep their jobs

That's it RB, channel your anger through Davies. Forget that it was Slaven (not P Alexander) that voted this in knowing that an 18 round season meant the GF being brought forward.

Norwood and West needed to play last week so they had a week off after the FOXTEL Cup GF.

Surely the SANFL needs to be flexible enough to be able to move games espcially if there is a chance of gaining a much larger attendance by doing so as would have been the case here. Especially considering both these sides were out the foxtel at least a month ago.

If the big European leagues with 100k members can move games around the little old SANFL can as well.
