About as much chance of Graham Cornes had of coaching Glenelg last season....

Could Haydn Bunton Jr be persuaded to come back for a second stint??? I have a feeling he has unfinished business at Unley Oval.......

I'm not sure that either of the 78 year olds you've mentioned would be long term coaching prospects for the club.

Well I just read on the Ben Warren thread that he resigned from Norwood. Reportedly did a fantastic job there.

Yes he's been a big success at the parade.
His work ethic and attention to detail have been fantastic.
Just ask any of the young men he developed into first class players.
Well done David Oatey.

Sturt Football Club – Senior Coach - Update

The board are meeting this week to consider the Football Committee’s recommendations for the position of Senior Coach.

We are hopeful a decision, offer and acceptance will be made prior to the weekend. The Club will then issue a statement advising who will be the 19th League Coach of Sturt Football Club

A STURT Football Club subcommittee has decided who the club’s next coach should be and will make its recommendation to the board tonight, with an announcement possibly made as soon as tomorrow.
Sydney Swans and Sturt premiership player Martin Mattner interviewed for the position and is understood to be among the frontrunners.
Mattner, one of the heroes of the Swans’ 2012 grand final win, retired after 222 AFL games for the Swans and Crows, midway through 2013 due to a chronic hip problem.
He has spent the past 18 months as a development coach at the Swans. He was originally from the small town of Ki Ki near Tailem Bend.

Mattner was high on the list for the North job however my mail is he couldn't string two words together during the interview processes and fell back to the pack. Hopefully he impressed the Sturt Officials and got better by the time he was interviewed by the SFC?
